Park Passes

I just wanted to share the good deals on park passes we have got recently. DH and I bought the Universal Annual Pass from their website and we got an extra year free! You get meal discounts and free parking too, they cost $169.95 each plus tax. Not bad if you have several trips planned over the next couple of years. I think you get hotel discounts too which we may use in addition to a trip to our DVC accommodation next year.

We also bought a Sea World funcard for $59.95 which is valid all of 2004, which is good as we have two Orlando trips planned this year- great value!

My parents used Keith Prowse to buy their tickets for our family trip at the end of the month. They got 7 days at Universal for the price of 2 (£61 I think) plus they bought Disneys 10 day World Pass and got a free character breakfast for £199. Their tickets arrived in 7 days and they also got a 11% off at Macys discount card plus vouchers to claim coupon books at Mall at Millenia, Premium Outlets and Florida Mall.

We bought Disney Annual Passes for a trip last December so we will have used them for a total of 6 weeks before they expire. Plus we got 40% off at Disneys Beach Club with them and saved a fortune!

There are some great deals out there! Especially with the weak dollar it is well worth looking at the Universal and Sea World sites.

We bought these passes last Sunday(they arrived wednesday!!).

When you receive your tickets it will say "Redeem by 30th June 2004"

After much toing and froing(as we dont actually go till may 05), so couldnt activate them till then, US said it was okay the redemption can take place any time, but your 2 years will run out june 2006 regardless of when you activate!!.

YES they are a good buy, was just wondering why you didnt buy one AP pass and one power pass??, you still get all the parking discounts and,mercahndise discounts, but its cheaper than buying 2 AP's, unless you plan on going to the park seperately and in 2 cars these sound like they would work for you(and its cheaper), power passes have the blackout dates over easter periods,christmas etc), but if youre not going at these times,then even better price!!.

we normally buy one AP and the rest power passes $99, this year we had to buy all AP's because of the blackout dates for 2006, but nevermind!!

Well originally we were both going to get the Power Pass as I wasn't much bothered by the offers/meal discounts on the AP and the Power Pass blackout dates did not affect us. but on the day I went online to buy it, the Power Pass was not there (or maybe I just couldn't find it) !! And the one year free on the AP made it very attractive as we know we are going next year too.

For $110 we could get a one year Power Pass. For $169 we got a 2 year annual pass, with discounts on food and free parking. Unless they are giving the second year free on the Power Pass too the AP is cheaper. We know we will be using it for 3 trips in 2004 and 2005 combined as we have DVC, we may possibly use it early 2006 too, we haven't planned that far ahead yet. I think it is a bargain!!!!

Looking at my receipt:

$2 shipping, plus $22.09 tax on top of the $339.90 for passes TOTAL $363.99 for both of us.

If you do it online you get a coupon with a confirmation number. At the park entrance you go to a machine, tap in the confirmation no and swipe the credit card you used for the online purchase.

That is an amazing price! We aren't going until July but are also going back in October - who needs money!!
