Park passes upgrade to AP

I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong area and I apologize if so. I know that we are currently unable to purchase APs. I was just on the phone with member services and she suggested going through AAA or other sites for park passes. I hung up before I thought to ask, if tickets are purchased through outside sources THEN Disney opens AP purchases up again can I upgrade the tickets even though they weren't purchased though Disney? Does this make sense? Thanks!

Yes. I always buy my tickets through UT and upgrade to AP on site. No worries there!

No, At one time, they required you to go in the park to bridge it, but last few times, the CM did it right at guest services without my even saying anything.
