Park open-to-close: Tips for pacing yourself?

So, we totally did this... two days in a row, actually! (7AM- midnight/8AM-midnight). Am I so tired right now I'm not totally sure any of this is real? Pretty much. Was it worth it? Yes!

We handled it a lot like other posters suggested- cycling hours of going hard with semi-planned breaks. We maximized our time at the start of the day, when we were super energized. Filled in the hot/crowded midday with shows and longer meals, then hit the hours hard just before and after the fireworks and Fantasmic, when the lines were short and it was nice and cool. It really helped to start with smaller breaks and extend them as the day went on. We kind of set snacks by our MaxPass- if it was time to get another pass, it was probably time to calorie up, too.

One other thing that's always helped me at DL, since I was a kid actually, is to just do whatever is closest and easiest when you are tired. Like just ride ANYTHING that has a short line, even if it isn't one of your favorites, because any ride is still a ride! I can't explain why, but for some reason that always recharges me (and the people I'm with!).

Hope you have an awesome trip :) Honestly, I don't think I can ever go back to leaving the park early (or getting there late) again now, haha!

Reserve minimum of 1 sit-down meals per day. It really allows you to catch your breath, sit down, enjoy a nice meal. It makes a huge difference!

I agree with CharleneTheDM about planning at least one (maybe even 2 or all 3!) sit-down meal. Aside from that, just slow down a bit. You're going to get so much done being there that many hours, that there's no need to sprint from place to place.
