"Well hi there everybody!"

I just watched Sleeping Beauty for the first time in 10 years - quite a while, since I'm 18. And y'know what?

The Disney parks have mutated.

Suddenly they're all whizzy and new, not so patient and romantic. The prince on his noble steed has been replaced by Buzz Lightyear, the Sword Of Truth with a laser gun and the Realm of Kings and love with the East Australian Current.

Is it me, or has all of the ingenuity, perhaps spark left Disney? Now all that seems to be left in these parks is the Pixar culture, which is just... different?

I picked no substantial difference, but I wish there was another option; different, but neither better or worse.

I think there is a lot more diversity of attractions, but still plenty for people who prefer the "classic" prince and princess types, while still keeping it exciting for the adrenalin junkies disney was loosing in the face of competition from the six flags and universal studios of the world.

The new stuff may have more flash and bang than the classics, but if you look carefully, there's still plenty of clasics to enjoy.

As a bonus, they're usually not as crowded as the "bang, zoom" attractions.

Well-it's all in your point of view, and as far as WDW is concerned, your age. I'm a "child" of Disney. Saw all the films when they were originally out. All the TV shows when they were actually on. Watched the Mouseketeers when they were on.
So to me, Lilo and Stich, etc holds no interest whatsoever.
But todays kids have no real connection to those olden days, so their version of what once was mine IS Lilo and Stich, Nemo, Buzz, etc.
Which, in it's way,is what "must be" and that's probably good.

Uncleromulus is right: it's all perspective. Some people would love it if MK (and DL) never changed from the day they opened; others would love to see old attractions replaced with new ones a lot more frequently than they do.

And don't forget that these parks were pretty "whizzy and new" when they opened: a trip to the moon! getting minaturized! monorails as transportation!

I'm certain that, 10 years from now, some 18-year-old is going to miss the "good old days of Buzz Lightyear" and fondly remember how 'quaint' MS was 'back in the day'.
