Park merchandise returns

is it possible to return/exchange park merchandise without a receipt? My DD got a set of princess bath toys for her birthday but we already have the same set. We will be going to Disney next month and I'm wondering if I could take the set with us to exchange for another set we don't already have. I don't want to bring them into the park if they won't exchange them though.

I doubt they will do the return without receipt.

I bought some ears for my step daughter at our hotel. She was on the trip, but not with me at the time. I wasn't sure she'd like them, so I asked the CM about returns. She cheerily said no problem, but stressed the need for the receipt.

Yes... but it must still be in stock (not an item phased out) and you will only get a Merchandise credit card (not a Disney Gift card) good for the cheapest they've sold that item in the past 30 days.

A friend got me a shirt that I already had. I kept it in the bag, the end of the tag was ripped off, so no price, and no receipt. I took it with me two months later when we went ourselves to MK to return it. They would not give cash back, but they did give me a store credit very quickly with no questions asked. Full price back plus tax. No problems!

Thanks everyone! Follow up question, would I be able to return the princess set to our hotel gift shop? We'll be at Art of Animation. That would be much easier than taking it into the park with us. I can certainly check when we get there, but if anyone has any experience with doing that, please share! They might carry those sets there, but I don't know.

Now that's a good follow up question. I brought my return to the store where my friend said she bought the item, thinking if there is an issue, they could at least find the item to get a price, etc...but it might all be linked in their system to look it up... Worth a shot! Worst that could happen is you take it with you into the park to return...

I'm pretty sure this would work, you cant be the first person needing to do this and even if the resort store doesn't stock it, I think they could reverse the flow back to the parks when they deliver mdse to the resorts for guests.
