Hello all you DisneyLand Pros! :wave2:

We are heading to DisneyLand in September for our first family trip to the West Coast and I can hardly wait. We are getting to stay at the GCV and are looking forward to the close proximaty of everything.

We are bi-annual WDW regulars, and I am a planning master. The fact that I don't have to make dining reservations 6 months out was enough to give me hives a few months ago but I am learning to go with the flow and am embracing the change in trip planning. That being said, I am trying to take a MUCH more laid back approach for this trip.

However, I would still like to find the park hours for DisneyLand and CA, as well as which shows and fireworks will be offered while we are there.

The Disney site leaves a lot to be desired, hoping someone here can point me in the right direction - Thanks!

Also, which fireworks show has Dumbo flying around the castle? Our kids have seen Dumbo on the planning DVD and it is all they can talk about. :goodvibes:goodvibes

September hours should start coming out soon, but Disneyland only posts them 45-60 days in advance. Fireworks and Fantasmic! should be Friday-Sunday. The Dumbo flying fireworks is called Magical and is only shown during the summer. This year it's supposed to end Labor Day weekend. In September you'll likely see Remember Dreams Come True....which is one of the best Disney fireworks shows I've seen. MUCH better than Magical.

Thank you both for the replies, I really appreciate the info!

Sad to hear that we probably won't be seeing Dumbo fly, how do they do that anyway?!?!? But happy to hear that the fireworks will be great.

Have a wonderful day! :goodvibes

Well at first we thought it was a magic feather. Turned out he could fly on his own all along.

BTW, since it sounds like you are going after Labor Day week when the Magical FW with Dumbo will end on Sept 5th hours will go to the offseason routine.

DL will have longer 8-12 hours on Sat and Sun maybe 8-11 on Sunday. 10-8 Mon-Thur. 9 or 10-12 on Fri. DCA will have 10-8 Mon-Thur and 10-10 on Fri-Sun. This is what they did last year so it should be similiar.

The disneyland.com calendar goes 60 days out so the offcial hours will show up soon.

I so LOVE having Disney friends who get it!! :goodvibes

This is the EXACT answer that I gave my kids, word-for-word, when they asked me about it.

Thank you for this, it is very helpful :thumbsup2

We are going for a full week, plan on taking things slow, and want to explore all the nooks & crannies, as well as the Must Do's that we can find. Sounds like we will have plenty of time.

If you are going for a whole week it should be great. Make sure on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you see the shows, do things that don't happen all week. Such as Explorer Canoes, S.S. Columbia and some of the small shows in addition to Fireworks and F!. Use the weekdays to sleep in, enjoy dinner later out of the park and ride the major attractions. It will be relaxing and a benefit or offseason when you don't have to rely on quiet hours that are before 10am and after 10pm.
