Park hours? What's going on?

I have to agree with a the views taken by most of us here ont he board and this thread. I feel for those who lost lives in the September 11th attacks, but life goes on for those of us who survived. I just vivisted NYC in late August, stayed at the Marriott World Trade Center hotel, visited Windows on the World. I watch the second plane live and was thinking how lucky I am to be alive and not in that place at that time. The thoguht crossed my mind while I as up in the tower of how would I get out in an emergency, it was an eerie feeling to say the least. I said my prayers and gave my thoughts to the families involved, but we have to move forward. I am taking my family (wife, child, parents and niece's two children) to WDW for a vacation and the time of our lives. My father has a heart condition and is not getting younger, my child is now relating to the Disney characters and etc. It is in conjunction with my parents 50 Wedding anniv and my 15th, so I am sorry to want to have a good time and get the most for my vacation dollar.

The phrase, "A Whole New World" is how I describe Disney to non-Disneyites. SInce my first trip in 91, yes I was a late starter to now I look forward to going to WDW and forgetting life's trouble for a little while. This escape is my way of surviving burnout from reality.

We do not want to forget those who were lost, but we also do not want o punish those who ar alive and still with us as well. I have always lived for today as tomorrow may never come. And with the events in the world as they are now, this statement is even more true. I cannot bring back the dead, but I can make the lives of my family and friends better esch day by spreading happiness and joy, so that is what I choose to do.

I hope that we all can someday enjoy life as we knew it before that tragic day - do not forget, but do not stop living as well.

thanks for letting me say my piece. back to final minute planning.
:D

IMHO, I would not be upset if I made the trip & the park hours were shortened. Of course, I would expect the shortened hours to be announced (& posted) in advance so that I could plan accordingly. However, if I spent my time & $$$$ to go to WDW & sections of parks or whole parks were closed on certain days, I would be livid. It would probably be my LAST trip to anything Disney. People arrive/depart on such varying schedules. Our very tentative Dec trip will only permit 2 (3 at most) days of park hopping. If any parts of the parks are closed down, it won't be worth the trip.
