Park hours feeling like a moving target

I've been trying to figure out a good way to transport food for a split stay so we don't have to order again. I've been looking for a cooler that would fit in our suitcase for a few items.

I wish I could rely on held back slots. We have had in park QS experiences where a single meal took us 3-4 hours before anyone could feed my son. My favorite is the time we were offered a "turkey sandwich, no bread, minus the turkey" because they were out. She straight face confirmed she was offering us a $7 piece of lettuce with no sides. It's too stressful so our long term lesson was to ALWAYS have a lunch plan. I know that is our restriction, but we didn't get adament until somewhere in the range of 10-15 skipped meals for multiple family members across a few trips. After the horror that was mobile order for us in the parks last year (they can't do allergies mobile, and in park locations weren't letting us order at all because they had such a massive mobile back up) I'm not taking that chance until I see evidence there's even a chance it can work.
We have multiple food allergies and completely understand the frustration.

This is a big cooler; I bought milk free fish sticks for our son and had to keep them frozen in the room so I got a corona cooler

There are some backpack coolers. Disney no longer allows loose ice, but you can fill it with ice by asking the QS in the parks.

Thank you! That Minnie one would be cute. I have to figure out what things we really need to have, the main goal is only to move things from Hotel#1 to Hotel#2, knowing bell services doesn't like to transport your cold stuff anymore. I plan to bring ice packs with us, so they likely won't get completely frozen but will keep things cold enough without leaking.

The Minnie one is pretty big. I have it in the Hawaiian print. Something smaller might be easier to carry into the parks

It only feels like a moving target because it is.
They have done this for years, making last minute changes.

Exactly. I remember several years ago, I checked park hours the night before and realized MK opened 1 hour earlier than originally posted. Not many people got the memo and the park was pretty empty.
Since that trip, I frequently check before leaving and always check the day/night before.

Thanks for the reminder to do this!

they've always added park hours during busier times, especially at MK. Yep, always check your park hours!

Early closings are usually for private parties or cast events. I don't think there is a time limit on how soon they have to arrange those
