Can anyone help me - we intend to visit AK in the morning and then move to Epcot in the afternoon, how long, on average, should the transfer time be

Are there any options?

Thanks

Your only two options from the AK are the bus or a taxi. I'd opt for the bus and plan on about 30-40 minutes.

Yes..you can ride Disney's bus over to Epcot...generally the wait is less than 15 minutes...and probably a 15 minute ride... Those are definitly the 2 parks to do in 1 day...I much more enjoyed AK than Epcot.

Have fun :)

Thanks guys (and gals) - One final qustion, we intend to do this on a Saturday - Good or Bad??

I don't think the day matters much...WDW is crowded daily :)

We frequently park hop on our trips. Sometimes the best way to do this is to return to your resort if you'd like to go for an afternoon swim, take a quick nap, or grab a snack. It's sometimes a good way to rest up for a long evening ahead. Hope this helps!

The snag there is we are staying in a Villa in Kissimmee about 15 minutes drive - so leaving the Park getting to the car and doing the same in reverse is really a non-starter.

What we thought of doing, when spending the full day, was taking a leisurely (couple of hours) lunch in the heat of the day (budget permitting) to re-charge our batteries. If we decide on that, just how important is priority seating?

I never saw a need for priority seating for lunches... We just went into ANY place inside to cool off :)

greenman2, do I understand you correctly, you're staying off property so you'll be arriving at AK via car? If that's the case you are better of driving from AK to Epcot. AK closes early (I'm not sure of when you're there but it's usually around 5 pm). If you are planning to go back to AK, you don't have a problem, except that you are going to be adding another 30 minutes back on just to get to your car. If you don't get back until well after AK closing, they will still take you out there on a bus, but the parking lot trams will no longer be running. This happened to friends of mine and that parking lot is HUGE. If you have a car, there is no advantage to leaving it at AK and travelling via Disney transport to Epcot and back, unless you're coming back to AK to do more activities and just going to Epcot for a couple of hours.

Another thought, and fellow DISers, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can park in the morning at Epcot and then take a bus to AK. Then in the afternoon when you hopped over to Epcot, your car would already be there.

B'rer Karen

That's right - I will certainly take up your suggestion and leave the car at the park we will be at last - great idea, thanks.

But, of course, that leads to another question - what time should we get to Epcot to get the transport to AK to arrive at AK around half an hour before opening? When do the buses start running from Epcot to AK?

This will be Saturday 6th September.

Many thanks
