We love to park hop(just can't wait 4 or 5 days till we visit each park)!
Generally, we visit a park in the morning, rest in the afternoon, then shows in the evening. We would love to do one thrill ride in the evening before the show. Last year, our whole family would park hop to the evening park before our afternoon rest to secure fastpass for evening.
Is there a way that just one member of the family can do this while the rest of the family go to the resort? Is it possible to get a fastpass for everyone even if they're not in the park? HELP!!!

THANKS!!! :sunny: :sunny:

The last time we were at WDW my family would be on a ride and I would take all their key cards and run them all through the fast pass machine for our next ride. It was always me that obtained all the fast passes for 9 of us. I don't think it will be a problem. :sunny:

Things may have changed but I believe that the tickets have to be used for admission to the park before they can be used to access FastPass. We've always gone around like lemmings so I can't say for sure but you probably should check.

Good Luck!

jsmla is correct. If the pass was not used for admission to the park that day, it cannot be used to obtain a Fastpass. This is done to discourage people with unused, leftover passes from using them to obtain multiple Fastpasses at one time. The whole clan will have to use their passes to get into the park to get their Fastpasses for later in the evening.

Of course, there's nothing to stop them from going in, handing you their MYW passes and the making a U-turn out of the park to head to the resort while you go off on the Fastpass quest.

Unless its changed, that got us. Shortly after they came out with Fastpasses I had the bright idea I could get FP for Safari while others slept in. Not only did those FP machines not like the tickets that hadn't gone through the entrance turnstiles, they glitched on others the rest of the day. Fortunately (a) CMs were real good about giving us FP manually and (b) they didn't glitch on park admission. It was our last day or I would have checked with guest services to see if I could have gotten functional tickets reissued.......

Great thread! I hadn't thought about the tickets not being good if not used in the turnstile. Thanks!!

A little off the subject, but..

If it is an EMH and you want a fastpass during the EMH, when should you try to get a fastpass??

The reason I ask is that we went to MGM EMH and waited almost an hour for RNR. Only got to get on one ride that night

Keep in mind, too, if your ticket is attached to your room key, someone is going to need at least one of those tickets to get into the room while you are getting the fastpasses!! Obviously, if the tickets and room key are separate, that won't be an issue. Have fun!

Yep, if the person didn't use their pass to enter the park the fastpass machines shoot out a ticket that says" this is not a valid fastpass".This happened to me when I went with my mom and i went to get a FP for Soarin and she by mistake gave me my dad's ticket who didn't come with us that day since she always holds his ticket.

I believe that all the FP machines are shut down prior to normal closing time (not EMH closing time). This is done so non-Disney resort guests do not end up with FP they cannot use. At the attractions that do use the FP for the evening EMH, they are re-opened at the start of EMH. This happened to us at the Studios this past June. The FP machines for TOT were closed but we overheard a CM tell someone they would be re-opened for EMH. We were able to grab our FP just as EMH started.
So you cannot go anytime during the day and expect to get FP for the evening EMH. You can only get them once the EMH has started.
