Park hopping and FP+

As far as changing plans mid-trip or deciding the morning of what park to go to....I would try your best to plan your days and pick your FPs ahead of time. If something happens that causes you change your plans once you are there, then you can deal with it. But I wouldn't plan on that, even in September.

If you do have to change park days, you have a much better chance the day before rather than the morning of, especially once the park opens and the same-day FPs start going. MK is the better park for choices, but times can still be limited. DHS and Epcot are a disaster trying to switch the night before if you want to ride headliners IME.

Having 11 days will help immensely.

i made all my FP, i hated it but i did it. why wouldnt you plan on me changing it even in sept?

Im watching this thread with interest as we will be first timers using FP+ in a few weeks and we will also be first time park hoppers. In the past we designated 1 park per day so we never needed hoppers. Not able to do that on this trip and will be hopping from either AK>MK or AK>EP. Its nerve wrecking to think about all this as a first timer.

How much time does everyone allow between their FP+? An hour?

it depends. like at MK i have space mountain i think at 10, then splash and thunder mountain at 12 and 1 giving us more time to hike over there. or i think at HS i have toy story, the a lunch break the my other two. just depends what time we wanted to be at the park that day and where the rides were in comparison to what we wanted FP for

right but how can i be spontaneous if i have to have my FP booked 2 months before i go?! we like to decide the morning of where we are going the last half of the trip to do things we wanna do again or stuff we missed but if it needs a FP its hard to get
FP+ and MM+ are still in their infancy. These small details are still being massaged! :rotfl2:

I think the best park to hop to is probably MK, though hopping to AK could be effective as well, often late in the afternoon, like the last 2 - 3 hours before closing, AK empties ... we have often been able to do things like ride Everest 5 or 6 times in a row, no waiting, have even been allowed to just stay on the ride :)

If you want to make a last-minute change to the park that you are visiting or the specific attractions for which you have FPs, try to do it in the morning before the parks open. Better yet, do it the night before. That way you will get a jump on the day-trippers making their plans at kiosks when they get to the park.

Yep, if you are going to change FP plans, the earlier the better :thumbsup2
