Hello I was wondering if you can purchase 8 day park hopper tickets at Disneyland. When we go in Oct, for 10 day's I am not sure if we should get yearly passes.
We will not be going back this year. So I am not sure what the best deal is.

Thanks

Given that a 5-day pass is $244 and a deluxe annual pass is $269, I'd go with the annual passes. Even buying the 5-day tickets online when you get a discount still makes more sense getting the annual pass if you're going to be there 10 days. And remember, the annual pass is good for one year from the date of first use (next Oct in your case) so it may be worth planning a return trip within the next 12 months since your admission would be free (check the block-out date calendar in advance).

GetAwayToday sells the 8-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper for $204.00. I believe that they have a $10.00 per order service fee but that is still much cheaper than buying them at the gate.

we are gonna need a 7 day hopper and get away price is $204. Would it be smart to just upgrade to annual pass while we are there? I am not 100% sure that we would be returning to use it again, but it could save us money if we did.

Buy the 8 day passes first thru Getaway & use your MM priviledge (are they still offering 2 MMs??).

After using your MMs, THEN upgrade to the AP (best done in the morning to avoid lines).

Is it better to buy the 8 day pass instead of the 7 day?? So we need to use the MM pass first before upgrading?

You don't have to use the MM before upgrading, but annual passes do not come with MM so if you upgrade before using MM you'll forfeit that privilege.

That's what i meant to say. :thumbsup2

If you're staying at a DLR hotel it's a moot point (since you get MM anyway).

But if staying off-site & if MM is important to you (& it should be).....then use the MMs first & THEN upgrade to the AP.

The 8 day (if i remember correctly) is only $5 more than the 7 day, so even if there's a possibility you'll step into DLR for an hour or so....get the extra day. (this is for folks NOT getting an AP).

But if you're upgrading to AP it's irrelevant which you get since the total outlay will equal the AP price.

Then again...maybe you want to make your 8th day your MM / upgrade day?

Clear as mud?? :3dglasses

Another thing to consider is the discounts you get with your AP at restaurants and shopping. Not sure the exact amount because I'm not an AP holder, but I'm sure someone on the DIS could help me with the details of this.

Disneyland does not sell 8 day park nor park hopper tickets, not at the ticket windows, nor on their website. Get away today does.

Just a heads up. You can purchase an 8 day pass from Walt Disney Travel Company but you can’t buy it online. Your or your travel agent must call WDTC. They are the same price as GAT and have the same $10.00 fee but only give one MM.

It is part of “Disney’s Passport Plus” where you can buy any part of a package they offer without the hotel stay. You can purchase anywhere from a 3-8 day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Ticket. They touch on the Passport Plus briefly in their brochure but don’t really mention online.

what is the discount for being an AP Holder? What does it cost to upgrade from a 7 day hopper to AP?

GAT is still offering the 2 MMs with their parkhoppers on tickets that are valid through January 5th, 2009. After that, it's the "Everyone Plays for the Kids' Price" offer, which will only include one MM.

We upgraded last summer to annual passes, but did it on our last day since the weekends were blackout days on the deluxe pass. It was well worth it though. We upgraded since we were going to go back early this summer with friends, but since we had the passes figured we should go down while they were decorated for the holidays. Afterall, it seemed a waste to not get oour moneys worth on the annual pass. You do get 10% on most food with the annual pass, so it makes it worthwhile to upgrade earlier as long as you have already used the MM and any days that may be blackout days on the annual pass. The upgrade price was the difference between the price of the hopper pass you get and the annual pass.
