Park Hoppers and DVC stay

My parents bought into DVC direct last summer before all the ticket changes and they are planning a two week stay next year. They plan to get a park hopper instead of annual pass as they will probably go every other year. Are DVC members tied to the same ticket restrictions as far as how long they are valid? They were looking to get maybe just a 3 or 5 day hopper because they plan to go to Universal as well.

The usage time frame is the same for everyone.

On occasion, special ticket offerings may have different usage restrictions. No such offerings are currently available for DVC members.

Thank you. That's what I thought but just wanted confirmation. I think it really stinks personally. Wished they would have kept the 14 day expiration without the extra cost. More than once we have cruised going before and after to the parks with a 5 day hopper so that's out the window too.
