Park Hopper Vets

So I'm new to EMH as well. For AM hours, that's one hour before regular park open? For PM hours, 2 hours after regular park closing? Is that correct?

Correct, we always get PH. And in my opinion early EMH are always worth it,you can get a lot done before it gets crowded.

Very interesting thread, thanks to all the contributors. I am now considering adding on PH, as staying at BC we may want to be able to continuously pop into EP.

Yes...thank you everyone for your advice. I'm feeling much better about being able to get the most out of the PH. It just means more planning. Which I love, so, it's all good!

I always get hoppers so I have flexibility. AK never takes me long, typically done by lunch; sooner if EMH that morning. So hopping allows me to go elsewhere at night. When I went in December, it allowed me to visit HS for the lights at night without being stuck there, my least fave park, all day. During my Food and Wine visit, I could spend the day at whatever park and then eat at the Epcot booths at night.

I would never want AK or HS to be the only park I could go to.

But to use hopper effectively, I feel you need to rope drop so you can plow through one park and then be ready for another. Typically I save my fastpasses for park two if I know I plan to hop since rope drop allows for walk ons. If I spontaneously hop, it is nice to know I have the option if I want.

I also don't have to be so stringent with ADRs, i just have to get to the right park in time if I have a reservation. My coworker has to plan her park 180 days out based on her dining plans as she won't pay to hop. That is too rigid for me.

The evening Epcot hop from those hotels is great. Too bad they don't open The French bakery for bfast, I would pop there on EMH mornings and then head to my other park of the day

We have always used PH options. It gives allows you to be somewhat flexible with your day. If the park you choose is too crowded, you just hop to another or if one park is open later, you can finish your day there. We've even just used it to hop over to Epcot for dinner. I like that you are not tied to one place and cna mix up your days. This is especially helpful with little ones who may get cranky and just need a change of pace.

We love park hoppers because it gives us so many more options. Last trip we started the day early at the MK (got lots done), hopped to the Studios (where we used our FP+), hopped over to Epcot for dinner, and then hopped back to the Studios! It sounds hectic, but it really wasn't. Well, maybe it was a *little* hectic. 8-)

We have also never not had park hoppers when we go. I love the freedom of it. That is what makes it completely worth it. We can do rope drop at MK in the morning and then have dinner at Epcot that evening or vice versa. It is very flexible that way. AK for half of a day and then go back to the resort to rest and then MK that night. This is how we always do things. It works out wonderful!
