There are several park hopper passes for sale on ebay that were 5-day, but only have one day left on them. When I called Disneyworld, they said they were fingerprinted and that we would not be able to use them. Is this true? I've never heard of such a thing. Don't you just swipe the card when you go through the gate?

Last I heard, hopper passes are not fingerprinted nor do they have your name on them.

But more important, you have no way of knowing that secondhand passes really have days left on them. For this reason I do not recommend buying any kind of pass from sources other than Disney itself or their authorized ticket sellers.

i wouldnt buy park tickets for ebay because it could be false and i could waste all my money. Just buy them from Disney, what is the difference?

Left over days are probably Plus options and are only good for Non Park Days
PLUS, a choice of FOUR one-day admissions** to the following:

Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Disney's River Country Water Park (Open Seasonally)
DOWNTOWN DISNEY® Pleasure Island
Disney's Wide World of Sports™ Complex (Days of operation
depend on event schedule)

Not what I want to spend my money on! I want park days!!!

When we were there in Feb, people were asked to put their fingers on a scan pad if their ticket was not accepted for some reason. I'm not sure how they were chosen to do this, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

Ebay can be a great place to sell and buy lots of stuff, but WDW park or hopper tickets are not something I would purchase on ebay. Many others have been burned doing so. You don't know until you get to the gate at the park whether the ticket is what it's suppose to be, no thanks. Then if it is used up, you have to purchase another ticket. Now you've paid twice. From what I've seen on ebay the tickets usually sell at about the same price you can purchase them at the Disney Store, no or little savings.

I had to check this out. I personally would never order my passes on ebay though. They had 2 adult one day passes high bid was $108.00. Then "4 meal passes" for lunches (had to be Connections) high bid was $85.00!!!! Aren't these $11.00 through Connections? You could almost buy your yr for $79.00 and still be ahead.

I did have a good experience ordering Universal tickets on EBAY..could only do one day and noticed that early entry was only offered with a two day ticket...so went to EBAY and bought a two day pass with one day left...we got there at 8 am did all the cool coasters and rides by noon and went back to Disney!!!! In this case it worked very well as regular opening was 10:30 I believe, and not problem with swiping the ticket......by the way the price I payed was about the cost of a one day ticket, but got us in early, no "bargain" ...I would not be afraid to try a disney Hopper pass (not PLUS) if I only had two days at Disney and wanted to hop parks....I am sure the EBAY price will be close to one day ticket price, but again, no "hopper" feature. Iam sure many many people have unused days on hoppers that they will never use.....I also cannot imagine a hassel with IDs if your EBAY pass has legitimate days left.............I am also a trusting soul, however...good luck....Ted

Annual passholders use fingerprinting for IDs, so did the Military free passes that were given during the promotion, so it may be days left on that, but they do expire by 7 days after the first visit.

If you buy tickets on eBay, be sure to use Paypal with your credit card. If there is a problem, you can do a charge back. I've known several people who have bought Dis tickets on eBay, and not had it be a problem. The best reason, is if you are going for a day or two, and want hoppers..they aren't available at Disney. So you may pay the same per day, but you get to hop. We sold our universal one day left tickets on eBay, and it was a great experience for both of us...buyer and seller.

Last time we purchased a Play 4 Day Florida Resident Pass for hubby, as he was only joining us for a part of the trip. His card not only went through the scanner, but he had to place his right index finger on a scanner, too. So the answer is, yes, the newer passes are fingerprinted. However, the older ones are not - I just don't know how you would tell. Also, any passes purchased before AK opened are not valid at AK. I am not sure how you would tell this, either.

Hope this helps!

iluvtig2 - your husband was "fingerprinted" because he had a special Florida ticket. They need to make sure that he is indeed a Florida resident - the one who purchased the pass. Regular hoppers, new or old, do not have a person's fingerprint encoded onto the pass. As far as I know, that is just done for special passes like an annual pass or a Florida pass.

During our last visit, we actually saw a whole family turned away. They huddled around a bench trying to determine what they were going to do. You can not tell how many days are left on a ticket any more....... Do you want to take that chance? Universal tickets are the same. I can not imagine anyone on this board who is going to Disney World one time only...... Buy a hopper and save the leftover days until the next trip. It will save you money as they go up every year. I wish I had purchased loads of tickets when I first started going. Little did I know how much I would be going and how much tickets would go up.

Caveat Emptor... If someone is willing to take the chance and buy passes over eBay, make sure you check the person's feedback from others who have bought from or sold to.
