Ahoy Thar pirate:

I was wondering, has anybody here been on the Discovery Guided Tours that they offer at Disneyland and Studios?

dlrpmagic.com/guides/practical/guidedtours

We're going for new years eve (and my birthday :woohoo: another year older). We have booked our places on both park tours, and I was just wondering what they're like if anyone's been on them?

Thanks, Have a magical Day.
Ben

We did the Park tour on our last visit in August, and I have to say it was excellent. The tour guide walks you through the whole history of the Disney family as well as why the Disney Co chose Paris as their base for EuroDisney.

You also get to know little intricate details of the park that you would normally miss (or wouldn't dream of).

You may get to go hehind the scenes of one of the rides (we got to look at Star Tours shuttle from a little viewing gallery whilst the ride is operational)

The Pièce de résistance is that anyone who attends on the tour has a tour pin-badge as well as access to the VIP area on the parade route.

I've always wanted to do one of these tours, but the trick is trying to be in the park on a day when the tour is in English. Each time I've gone, it's either in French or Spanish or German or it's in English the day after I leave! So I would recommend if you see that it's in English, go for it, as it may not be again while you're there.

I wrote a trip report which included details of our 2 guided tours when we went in April. They are in on the trip reports board (the link is in the sticky at the top of the board) day 2 and 3 of my April trip if you would like to have a read. I loved both our tours and would definately recommend them to others.

Hi Ben, welcome to the DIS! :welcome:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each.

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here and DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

We did the Guided Tours this summer and thoroughly enjoyed them. :goodvibes

Jennifer, next time you go book the tour in advance by email, there's a link in The Very Useful Info sticky. The first person to book the tour determines the language it's in. :thumbsup2

I wonder if that is still the case as I'd booked our tours by email. 2 days before arrival (which was while we were travelling) DLP sent an email to tell us the English language tours were on different days and afternoons, rather than mornings as first confirmed :)

Thanks for the welcome and for all the replies!

We have booked our trips for the 30th and 31st Dec. They said that the tours are always in all languages now (Headsets), but hopefully there will be some extra tidbits in English!

I'm very much looking forward to it - glad to know everyone whose been on the tours enjoyed it!

Thanks!

Thank you Elaine - I did not know that! :goodvibes
I'll do that for my next trip - I will go on one of these tours eventually :lmao:
