Park & Fly out of Buffalo?? worried about car getting stolen!

We are flying out of Buffalo 12/03 and my husband is sort freaked out about leaving our NEW car at the Airport in Buffalo for a week...
Is this something we should be worried about ??

It could happen with you parking at the airport at Pearson, Hamilton, Buffalo, sometimes even in your own driveway (I am exagerrating here ), but the point is just like anything in life, it could happen anywhere, anytime and to anyone - I guess.

We parked at BUF for 12 days (just returned last week) and it was not a problem. However, our is a 2003 Odyssey and not brand new.

If your dh is uneasy, it might be hard to enjoy the trip with him worrying about it (and make you worry about it too).

Just my 2 cents though.

No need to worry. I was parked there for the long weekend and it was there when I got back!
I parked there for a week in January as well.

We park all the time no problem. if you are worried try the Sunpark across the street from the airport on Genesse. They always have a guard on duty and it is fenced in. Plus they shuttle you to the airport and back. They also have a coupon on their website to save $$$$ too.

We always drive our older vehicle just for this reason, however we do the hotel stay/park thing and really the hotel parking lot is open to public access 24-7. We also do not leave anything in the car, not even change in the console, so no one is tempted. I think the airport parking lot itself looks fairly secure, I wouldn't worry too much about parking there.

Our last trip my son had been playing with his gameboy in the car. Rob dropped us off at the gate and proceeded to long term parking. We check in, go through security, sigh of relief, the kids start getting their stuff out of my carryon to play with while hubby and I are now drinking coffee with our 'A' boarding passes (An indication of how early we were) when we realize dd's have their gameboys but ds does not, but wait there are no games for these gameboys. Yup, ds left his gameboy and 12 games sitting on the seat of the car.

After that longwinded explanation I am happy to report that the games and gameboy were on the seat when we arrived home 12 days later and all of our winter coats too!

...I wouldn't worry about it...they probably have a better handle on security at Buffalo Airport than they do at Toronto (it's very open and you "can't hide anywhere" at Buf)

I left my new car (purchsed in November) there for 5 days in February and we were shuttled to our car from the airport to the parking lot, it was cleared of all the show and shovelled out upon our return. I bet they will not do that for you at Pearson.

I have had clients have their car stolen in Toronto but never in Buffalo. It happens but Sunpark is very secure - I have left it at the hotel and the airport before.

Tell DH to try to relax and not worry about it.

Remember you have to pay on the way out. Not too many car thieves want to pay for your parking costs when they can steal one for free somewhere else.

I forgot to mention, the shuttle service at Buffalo was excellent, best we have ever experienced!
