Where should I dine with my 6 and 4 year old? They both love characters but we're already doing chef mickeys and crystal palace. I've been to ParK fare is it was pretty good - never tried Kona though....

Kona doesn't have characters and is a more adult orientated breakfast. I would say 1900 Park Fare

Or were you thinking of Ohana as they do a Lilo & Stitch breakfast? If you have boys go for Ohana as this is probably a bit more male orientated IMHO

Whether you mean breakfast or dinner, Kona Cafe is far superior to 1900. 1900 is a buffet, Kona Cafe serves excellent food at all three meals. No comparison...really.

No characters as you seem to know but since you already have two character meals scheduled, you will probably enjoy a relaxed meal with great food served right to your table.

I think this is an excellent point...character meals are a little stressful if you are definately needing to see the characters. Missing characters because you are at the buffet can lessen your experience as you now notify your waiter or waitress of your missed character greeting.

We ate at both 1900 and Kona a couple of weeks ago - we enjoyed both but it depends what you are looking for.

The food at Kona was excellent, and of course it's not a buffet, no getting up and down a million times. It was very relaxing. The children's menu was not that extensive though, just a few choices, I think my kids had hot dogs. Delicious food, quiet, and relaxing.

For a buffet, we thought the food at 1900 was very good and the character interaction was great - they were a riot. Of course, every time I sat down and tried to eat, one of the kids was ready to go back to the buffet. So, good food, lots of fun, yet chaotic.

Good luck.

We had dinner at both earlier this month. This was our third year in a row having dinner at Kona and our first time at 1900 PF.

I was disappointed in Kona because our service was lackluster and my mahi mahi was somewhat dry. DD had a hot dog but the server brought nothing (nothing--no fruit, no anything) with it. I think that kind of stinks.

1900 PF had decent food but our server was awful--I mean the worst service of our trip awful. So awful that I left a note explaining why her tip was not the recommended 18% (and I have NEVER done that before).

Now with kids, I'd say definitely do 1900. The characters are fun and there's lots of excitement. Kona has no real atmosphere, and it's certainly not "fun" in the Disney sense of the word. We always eat there at least once, and it's nice but not the type of things kids will remember next month. 1900 PF is.
