Has anyone done this..and would you do it again? I am thinking about switching my plan around. I just don't know....it will be in August so I know it will be hot but we would be able to get more hours to do it this way rather than the day of arrival. I just wonder if we all will be too tired or if it would be a nice ending to a dream come true. Any thoughts?

We jsut did this after a 4 day in March - we were off the boat by 8:00 or so, and back to WDW by 9:30 - we went directly to AK and spent the day there before flying home the next day.

This really helped to cushion the transition back to the "real world" and I would strongly recommend it. We did not do this on our first cruise (we got home late Sunday and back to work/school the next morning) and it was really a hard adjustment after such a wonderful vacation.

We will be doing this when we get off the Magic on December 11th. We will head to AKL to check in then off to spend the day at MK.

Same as 2xcruiser; we left and proceeded directly to MK (do not pass go....). It worked out very well for us and we spent Sat there, Sunday at AK and flew home early on Monday. We were home in time to do laundry and not working on the Monday after returning from vacation is a very good thing!

last summer we got off the magic and checked in at the poly and headed over to the MK and boy we're we ever tired. we ended up going back to the room and just chilled out. it was nice as we got to view the fireworks from the room and then just went to bed. this time we're doing parks first. well kind of since we're doing 3 park days before the july 4th wonder cruise and 2 park days after that before we board for our 7 day magic cruise. i can safely say i know we'll be beat, but what a way to go.:cloud9: ::yes::

What did you guys do with your luggage? Did the hotel hold it until your rooms were ready?

Now there's a vacation I can appreciate!! With all of the Wonder and Magic and Parks that Disney can dish out.

I don't know about the previous poster's experience, but when we went to CBR straight from the cruise we were able to check in and get into our room right away. As a result, by the time we got to Epcot at 11:00 a.m., we were already situated in our room!

That said, we were really tired after just the four-day cruise and even more tired after three subsequent days in the parks. Still, just about every minute of it was great fun!

When we went on our 7 day Eastern last year, we followed it up with 4 days in the Parks. We had a good time, but after the cruise, the parks seemed like a lot of work. We enjoyed ourselves, but I think it would have been more fun if we hadn't done them back to back, or even if we had done the parks first.

we checked into AKL first, the first year our rooms were available so we dumped the luggage and grabbed the next bus to MK. Last year we just spent the day vege-ing at AKL's pool so we stored our luggage with the bellman until our rooms were ready

We took the parks very slow and easy. Of course, we had 3&5 year olds with us so we just went to the attractions they liked and spent a lot of time buying food! LOL
