Hi All!
We (my family of 5) will be at both PB and YC the week of the 22 of August. It seems like the rest of the world will be there too. I can't even get an upgrade or a second room at the YC at this point. Anyone know what's going on? I am wondering if the crowds will be at Christmas/New years levels?
Any strategies for getting an additional room would be appreciated.

Thanks!

41 days and counting! :Pinkbounc

I'm thinking it might be due to the free dining deal starting 8/21, and families trying to squeeze a trip in for those that haven't started school yet.

I'll be there, too! But my mom and I plan on hanging around the GF a lot, so I'm not as worried about crowds. I certainly doubt it will be Xmas levels (or any holiday levels). Just plan appropriately, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Good luck getting another room - I would just keep calling CRO - at 45 days, and then again around 6 days, availability might come up due to people canceling their package or room only reservations.

We have visited Disney during the last two weeks in August for the past couple of years. Most schools down south are back in session so the crowds are not too bad. While all the Disney hotels may be full, the locals will not be visiting mid-week.

The only downside is that's it hot hot hot! Get to the parks early, minimal lines and spend the afternoon in the pool. You can always go back in the evening to catch the fireworks.

We have never been in August - but we are going this year (Aug 6-13). I know the schools in North Carolina cant start back until August 25th or after. Which is a big change for us as we started the first week of August last year. I do think I saw somewhere that alot of the Florida schools start back on Aug 8. So maybe for our trip crowds wont be so bad for us plus we are going when you have to PAY for the dining plan :rotfl2:

We go in less than a month and I cant wait!!! :Pinkbounc
