Park Close (June 2018)

It has been several years since we last visited Disney, but we are headed back this coming June. I am now within my window of reservations and such, and I was a bit surprised to see parks closing at 9pm. For some reason I thought that regular close was later than that, and evening EMH kept the party going after midnight on most days.

Is my memory faulty on this one ? Or will hours be adjusted as we get closer ? Thanks for any insight that you may be able to provide.

It may or may not change. Yes, in the summer, MK often closed between 10pm and 1am, depending on the day. Last summer, it closed mostly at 10pm, with a few exceptions.

Epcot usually closes at 9pm, as does HS. AK sometimes was open until 10pm.

This is a pretty commonly asked question. They release hours this early out and then adjust them later, sometimes even a couple weeks before. I would look at historical hours to get a better sense of what might happen. Kenny the Pirate has historical hours on his website from the past several years. Keep in mind, last year Pandora had nightly extra magic hours until like 1 or 2 am, which I would not expect this year. Everything else will probably be pretty close. Perhaps if Toy Story opens around Memorial Day we might see some extra later or earlier hours in response to that.

They will likely update and extend hours between 3 and 6 weeks prior to your dates.

Unless I’m mistaken (which I could be), I believe prior year hours are accurate, except for maybe any last minute changes that may have occurred.

Summer park hours have been dramatically reduced so don't expect big extensions like in the past. I was there first week of august 2017 and during my 6 night trip only once was a park open past 10pm.

In the past a park would be open until at least 11 almost every night.

I will keep that in mind. So far, I do see Evening EMH for EP(11p on 6/19) and MK(midnight on 6/20). Regular evenings seem to be ending at 9pm ? Which seemed a bit early to me. We'll hope that "summer" and the new Toy Story addition bring some extra hours along with them !

If Toy Story Land opens on or before June 2018, there will probably be extended hours at HS. I would also assume that AK may continue to have extended hours next summer - maybe not as much as 2017 but extended hours in some form. However to do this takes resources away from other parks to remain open later, so it's likely that MK hours would stay similar to 2017.

Seems every story I read about WDW jobs recently has been about cutting jobs and/or hours rather than creating more. Hopefully this will change, you'd think adding some major new park additions would require additional staffing and generate a lot of new jobs as well.
