June was showing yellow and grey across the board. Now most days are green!!! Increased park capacity!
Could be increased capacity. Could also be reshuffling of categories or cancellations. Only Disney knows for sure!
I support your theory. Especially because there’s an article on the news thread that discusses the increasing number of cast members being recalled.Well, considering almost all the days in June were yellow and June 7 & 8 were grey, now they are all green, something big happened. I was watching June 6 because it is our last day and we wanted MK but it was booked, along with DHS. Now they are both available.
It’s definitely possible they increased it, I just know we’ve seen lots of days over the past few months go from yellow or grey to green, while they still claimed to be at 35%. Hopefully if they did increase capacity they’ll start to open more in the parks to absorb the crowds.Well, considering almost all the days in June were yellow and June 7 & 8 were grey, now they are all green, something big happened. From my (admittedly casual) observations as to park pass availability over the past few months, it seems to me they don't make the entire allotment available that far ahead.
So they may not have increased max capacity yet, but are just making more slots available intermittently.
I'm curious how we know they haven't been slowly increasing capacity the past month or two? The last announcement from Disney confirming they were operating at 35% was many months ago. Even then, Disney made no promises to make more announcements when they chose to increase capacity. They could increase it back up to 100% without saying a word about it.Yea, we've been seeing this happen lots for months now without capacity increasing. Sure, it could be increasing, but I wouldn't just make that assumption.
I'm not the poster you quoted but I'll give my 2 cents. I agree it's unlikely that they will announce when they increase capacity, but alongside the increase we should see the opening of more things inside (and outside) the parks. More shows, attractions, restaurants, shops, etc. Otherwise we'd see a noticeable increase in wait times and a lot more complaints about crowds, which we haven't seen yet. I do think it's possible that May/June has increased and we'll start to hear about some park re-openings tied to that.I'm curious how we know they haven't been slowly increasing capacity the past month or two? Oh, interesting. I would have said we've seen a massive increase in wait times, crowds and complaints during this March and April compared to December / New Year when parks were similarly "booked solid."I'm not the poster you quoted but I'll give my 2 cents. It certainly seems as though the capacity has been incrementally upped since the Christmas holidays without more things opening up to absorb those crowds?
Topics for another thread, I know. But related to capacity, I do know that during my week of stay I've watched carefully and seen it go from complete open avail in all open resorts when I first booked to, particularly in the last week or two, dwindling inventory down to AoA, CB, and SSR as the only options. So people definitely are filling up slots - at resorts that I COULD book on earlier dates when parks were completely unavailable on the reservation system. So unless a bunch of people are staying on site & not going to parks, and/or fewer locals are booking AP / dated tix spots, there's definitely capacity increase.
Well played.I think that's entirely possible. On the other hand, the fact that rooms are filling up could also be used to support the argument that they shifted AP reservations over to resort guests to accommodate the increase in people booking rooms.
