I don't see where the OP says it ruined her vacation- just that it was frustrating. I can see why it would frustrate someone. Your paying $300 + per night and your going to be inconvenienced for someone who is paying a lot less? It's supposed to make this easier for you when you spend the extra money. I know that upsets the Value Resort lovers (nothing against it- just not for me) but it's a fact.
Couple of interesting issues you bring up.
First, let's say the average room contains three people at WL. Eighteen people waiting for a bus represents six rooms. Six times $300 is, well, $1,800.
Now let's say the average room at Pop
also contains three people. There are 54 of them waiting for a bus, or eighteen Guest roomsful. Eighteen times $100 is, well, $1,800.
But the bus routing/stopping isn't based on that - Disney generally uses the common-sense method of having the driver stop where it's most convenient for the driver and bus. Why have the driver pull all the way up to slot 2, then have to leave and circle around even the most minimal route and come back to slot 13 - when you can have the driver let out passengers at slot 13 and board other passengers the instant the bus is empty?
However at the time I never thought about & after reading this post, maybe WDW should think about how the Resort bus sections are numbered. In the end we missed the bus by a matter of seconds because just before leaving my Dad & I stopped into to look at a photo that was taken by a photopass Cast Member
Okay, first, Disney DOES think about how the Resort bus sections are numbered, but even more importantly, how they are assigned. I wasn't on the bus that dropped you off, but I'm 100% sure the driver announced which stop number is assigned to the Contemporary's buses
specifically so Guests will know where to wait when they want to return to the resort. In addition to that, there are signs both as Guests approach the bus area indicating the direction in which to head for various resort buses, and there are signs overhead with the name of the resorts AT the bus pickup area. Now, in all fairness, you
chose to do something other than determine and head directly for your bus stop
While I didn't appreciate the elitist attitude of the OP I think it is wrong to say that upgraded transportation isn't part of the deluxe resort perks. First the transportation options grow with each upgrade of hotel class. Lower priced hotels don't have as many transportation options.
Well, sure they don't (although Port Orleans has more options than the other Moderates, and the same transportation options that SSR and OKW do

). But I think the issue a number of posters have with the original post is that the person seems frustrated over having to walk a couple of hundred feet further than she/he would have if the WL bus had let them out at the WL stop. That really does give the impression of, "I paid more for my room, I shouldn't have to walk as far as those
Value resort people", whether that was the OP's intent or not.

You whipper snappers. I remember going to WDW in snow 6 feet thick, uphill both ways when I was younger.
You forgot barefoot, and having to experience the attractions using a kerosene lantern because thar wern't none o' that ee-lectricity stuff that they haves nowadays
Nothing I said was meant as a slam on those who could not afford to stay at the Deluxe resort, it was a simple statement of why I am willing to pay that price, if you are not able to, that's not anything I care about remotely.

Why do you assume people stay in the values because they can't afford a Deluxe resort?
Ooh, good catch! The opposite viewpoint of 'I am willing to pay that price' is 'you are not willing to pay that price. It's NOT 'you are not able to pay...' Now, THAT'S elitist, snobby and, well, just plain rude.
I choose to spend my money on a Deluxe resort because I want service, the OP obviously had the nerve to not realise that the Value Resorts should have the best of everything and us "snobs" who choose to spend our vacation money on a nicer resort should just hire a sherpa to get us to the parks
Not at all. Aside from that it's not where one stays but rather one's attitude that seems to be the issue - the OP is frustrated over having to walk from the Pop bus stop to whatever park, instead of from the WL bus stop to that park. Sherpa? If you need a sherpa to guide you 200 feet, go for it. The rest of us will just follow the provided signs - or the crowds - to the park entrance
Seriously people! You are arguing about bus stop! Seriously? Seriously? Really, who pays attention where you are being dropped off?
Um, the original poster?

I know I don't pay attention. Several times I heard the driver say something about "When you want to get back to Pop Century, go to bus stop number whatever". I never noticed where, in relation to that, we were let out. It was ALWAYS adjacent to the correct park, so I was happy.
