I've been reading that you need to get to the park an hour before opening. Is that really necessary? We're planning three days at the parks and don't really want the "commando" experience and I'm not sure I could stand in a line for an hour waiting to get in. Staying at WH so no early entry and we are not doing fast pass because it's just too expensive for our family. I think HP is the only thing that has the big crowds, but if we get our "come back" passes first thing, even if it's later in the day shouldn't we be ok?

By your ticker it looks like you will be going in june and its the begining of the busy season and I am the same way don't like standing in long lines due to a bad back but either way your going to be standing in long lines and with no express passes and if you are doing WWOHP then I would say yes it nessesary to be there a before park opening but as for me I am not a big potter fan and plus did it last year and got my fill of it but its your choice cause you will have fun no matter what you choose :thumbsup2

Hi, My DH, DD & I were there last Monday & Tuesday (9th & 10th) as first timers - my advice would be to get there early. We arrived at the gates around 8:15-8:30 and there was already a line (of course the time of year makes a difference) but we did Rip Ride Rockit, Simpsons & Men in Black all in the first hour and we were one of the first groups for ET when it opened at 10.

My husband is not an early riser but was totally on board for getting up early the rest of the week when he realized how much we could get done by being at the gates at opening.

Have a great time - we had a lot of fun!
