My family and I will be disembarking the Dream on December 31st and we have booked a Cars suite from at AOA from the 31st until January 4th. I was originally going to do three park days from the 1st to the 3rd (early flight on the 4th). We were booked on the Magic out of Miami but changed to the Dream because the close location to Disney World. Much more convenient! Since we will be coming from Port Canaveral, what are your opinions on also going to a park on the day we check in? Then we will have four park days instead of three. Is it worth our while? TIA!

New Year's Eve will be very busy in the parks. I suppose it's even possible MK could reach some level of closing.

I would be tempted to schedule 3 FPs in one of the least busy parks, maybe AK? Then watch the fireworks from the Ticket and Transportation Center outside the MK.

I would then probably hit the MK at rope drop (which will be early) on 1/1 while everyone else sleeps off their late night.

You'll be off the Dream early in the morning, some guests leave as early as 7:00ish, and will most likely be at AoA by 10:00 or so depending on what type of transportation you are using. Booking a town car service would be fastest. Your room probably won't be ready so you can check your luggage and be on your way to the park.

It's definitely worth it as the parks will be open late that evening.

Remember that when you are on a cruise, Mother Nature is in charge. I did not get off my Fantasy cruise until almost noon because we docked very late. It was an isolated incident, but I always recommend being really flexible on the last day of your cruise.

Arriving on NYE? One of the most crowded days of the year. By noon MK will probably be in some stage of closing. I remember looking at some of the wait times and giving thanks that I wasn't there. I agree that if you want to hit a park, go with the most recommended one- probably AK.
