Park Admission Tickets...

We have some old paper tickets from WDW that have no experation date on them. Does anyone know if these can be traded in at a Disney Store for current newer looking tickets? Thanks

Guest relations at WDW is where you trade them in for newer tickets, TDS can't do that.

There are Guest Relations windows at each of the four major parks and there are two Guest Relations offices at DTD.

There is one in the Marketplace right next to Once Upon a Toy. There is another one in West Side just down past the AMC Theaters.

Just one little thing to add.
Your old paper ticket will have more value if you just use it for park admission instead of trading it in. The old ticket will only have the value of the price you paid all those years ago for trade in puposes but will get you a day in the park at the old price if you use it for park admission.
If this is not correct, I'm hoping GoldenOldie or Gail Hayden will correct me. They are the ticket gurus on this Board and I mean that as a compliment.

They will give you a new style ticket with the number of days left on your old passes. The OP is right it would not be a good idea to use the credit towards a new pass it will increase your per day cost. I traded one last year that was the old punch a hole next to day 1 day 2 etc. Probably should have kept it as a collectible but really enjoyed that day at the park.

You are correct in what you said.

However the inference I get from the OP was that they aren't looking to upgrade these tickets, just to exchange them for the magnetic strip ticket which their old ones must not have. That being the case, castleri's answer is correct.

I guess I should hold on to the tickets until entering the park at the turnstyle? If I remember correctly, after we insert the old paper ticket at the turnstyle, a newer ticket will be issued - is this right? These tickets are a gift from a family member (and Disney CM). They are VERY old tickets that he "dug out" for us. We've gone through this process before, and I remember the MK CM looking at the paper ticket with no experation date on it very confused and not sure how to "submit" it at the turnstyle. So my thought was that if we traded them in for newer ones at Guest Relations we would avoid the confusion and delay when entering the parks.
So my questions is - even if they are CM tickets - do you have to pay for and "upgrade" to get newer looking tickets? Sorry, I should have mentioned this first but I wasn't sure what the policy of discussing CM privelages are. Thanks

At guest relations they simply gave me the ticket that would work in the turnstile in place of the paper one I handed them. There was no charge. I hope you can find a CM who can tell you about these. Do they state that they are CM tickets? Is it possible for the person who gave you the tickets to turn them in for new ones before you get there if he is still a CM?

No. There are no tickets issued at the turnstile. If you have an old ticket that does not have a magentic strip on the back, you cannot put that ticket into the tirnstile. You will have to hand it to the gate CM.

If these are single day tickets, don't even bother with exchanging them. Just give them to the gate CM when you go in. The one drawback to this is that you will also have to give your ticket to the attraction Fastpass CM to get any Fastpasses you might want because your ticket as is cannot be used in the FP machines. But this is only a very minor inconvenience.

If you'd rather have them exchanged for magnetic strip tickets, it can be done at Guest Relations. There is no charge for it.

OK - so it sounds like "yes" I can exchange them at Guest Relations without additional charge to avoid any inconvenience while in/at the parks. That's all I'm really trying to do - is avoid any other delays once at the parks and the newer passes eliminate the hassle of confusion. We'll be at DTD 2 days before we go into the MK - so I'll just give it a try - it can't hurt. Thanks for all your help I really appreciate it.
