Parents sue Disney, say son suffered 'severe burns' from nacho cheese

...hmm?, I got brainfreeze from one of those pineapple Dole Whips once?!?:headache:

I'm not saying the suit was legit or not, but I can see the possibility of a severe incident happening.

When we were @ WDW in Dec, DH went to the food court and brought back hot choc in our mugs.
Our room was three buildings away from the FC, so it was a bit of time between getting the HC and returning to the room with it.

I took a drink of mine through a straw, and instantly fried my mouth.
Unfortunately, for some reason, I swallowed rather than spitting it out, and I scorched my throat. I couldn't eat or talk for the next few days.
Fortunately, I stopped my DGS4 from drinking his before the same happened to him.

So, was the nacho cheese suit legit and justified? I don't know.
I do see the possibility that it could have been.

Wasn't the cheese supposed to go in his mouth, how did it end up on his face - some folk will do anything to then sue another party, they probably would have complained if the cheese was cold also.

Negligent parenting at its best --- parents are never responsible for their children these days, it's always the companies with all the money that ruin everything!

Bad parenting. Younger parents these days don't raise there children and leave it up to the school system (here in NJ that's a dangerous choice) they want to be their child's friend and not parent.

Agreed. End of story. How did the cheese even end up on the kid's face in the first place? The parents are responsible for not supervising the situation. Before I feed my 4 year old brother anything I always check the temperature and cool it down if it is too hot. It is common sense. Cheese sauce is going to be hot.

If I ever ended up having to sue Disney over anything (extremely unlikely), I'd end up asking for lifetime passes and accommodations, rather than money! :rotfl:

This is completely ridiculous. :sad2: Just a family wanting all the money they can get. If the family would have glanced at the cheese before scarfing it down, they would have clearly noticed that there is steam coming from it - so don't eat it yet! See this is why we can't have nice things! Now I bet Disney's gonna cancel all the luscious nacho cheese and replace it with... cold grated cheese :guilty: . Now I don't wish bad upon anyone but this is a stupid lawsuit. I know that hurt though! That poor kid swallowed magma. :worried: Next I suppose they're gonna be sueing Disney because their mickey bars are too cold.

My bil was very neglectful and my niece got 2nd degree burns FROM THE OVEN, and the burns and all scars vanished within weeks.

I think these people were just looking for a handout.

People need to watch their children and not look for a way to blame other people, and then to get money from Disney makes me mad!!!

I guess when my daughter tripped and fell while dancing to the music during the Christmas Lights I should have sued Disney for playing music

I personally think that it is the parent's responsibility to make sure that the cheese was cool enough for their child to eat. It is labeled hot and it is common sense that it is hot. I mean come on, we all know that melted cheese is really hot. Sounds to me like they used their child as a victim as a way to get rich quick, which is sickening to me.

Ridiculous, but not surprising. People never want to take responsibility for their own actions anymore-it is always someone else's fault.

I'm goint to sue because the sun is too hot in Orlando. Disney should really do more to dim the sun while people are in the parks. :sad2:

I think I'll sue them for emotional distress!!! I can only go about once every year or two and they should have KNOWN that I like to go more often but they built it too far away!! Thus causing me emotional distress when I don't have a trip planned!!!

Hmmmm. . . maybe they'll just settle out of court and add a park in New Orleans!
