Not sure how much training bank tellers get these days. Or life experience since most at my branch are part time employees and still in College. A friends mom passed away, and the bank froze her join accounts with him, AND all his accounts that he had alone.
I went in my branch with a Travelers Check and wanted to get $2 bills for tips for a trip. The teller told me she had no idea what a Travelers Check is, and that there is no such thing as a $2 bill. I guess just the look of amazement on my face was enough because I didn't say anything, but she immediately called over the Manager. Who said yes, we take Travelers Checks (since they sell them, although rarely now).......and he needed to order the $2 bills but would have them by the next afternoon
