We are headed to WDW Mar 1-11. My mom will be staying with us at OKW the 1-5. And you know what that means...free babysitter! DH and I live far from the grandparents...so free babysitting is a very big deal. And it's a win-win b/c my mom wants alone time with the kids.

DH and I are trying to figure out some fun things to do without the kids the four nights she's with us.

Day one: Arrival. We're thinking of eating dinner with the fam at Olivia's and then heading out on our own somewhere.

Day 2: Animal Kingdom (should be finished with the fam after the 3:45 parade). Mom will take the kids to the pool and they will make dinner in the villa. Dh and I will go somewhere...where?

Day3: Thinking of making this a lounge-around-OKW day. (May go to Epcot if weather isn't pool-worthy.) Pool, surry bikes, boat to DTD, etc. Maybe have lunch at DTD with fam. DH and I would go out alone later....where?

Day 4: Commando day at MK with the fam. DH do something low key this night.

More info: DH and I are in our 30s. Not on the dining plan. Don't mind an occasional splurge, by are generally pretty frugal. We will have a rental car.

Help!

You could check out some of the entertainment. We love YeeHaw Bob at POR and it's right next door to you. They have a great food court, too. They also have entertainment at their sister resort POFQ, not to mention the nice boat ride to DD.

Definitely plan a nice dinner. You could try California Grill, Flying Fish or Jiko. If you do California Grill, you could do this less expensive by ordering apps or Sushi. Their dragon roll is terrific and presented beautifully. Time your ressie (a must as soon as you can) so that you are there during the Magic Kingdom fireworks as the Contemporary has a viewing platform that overlooks the MK. If you do Jiko, ask if you can be seated at the kitchen cooking area. They have been very generous with appetizer sampler platters etc comped to us. If you go to Flying Fish, you can take a romantic walk on the Boardwalk where they have performers and you can have a nice after dinner drink.

I am attempting to post a link to a website where menus are posted.Www.allears.net

Flying Fish one of my favorite restaurants in all of Disney. DH and I go to the Boardwalk, have a drink in the lounge, then head to FF, and then stroll down the BW to Jellyrolls where we listen to the dueling pianos and have some more drinks! That said, FF is splurgy, but worth it, we think.

EPCOT WS is so fun for adults, IMO. We love just strolling at our own pace around the countries, having drinks and getting little snacks from around the world! You can check out the tequila bar in Mexico, and there's wine tasting in France (maybe something similar in Italy too, I can't remember).

Since it's just the two of you, have you thought about La Nouba? I really would like to see the show, but with 4 of us it gets expensive. You could go to the show, post your experience, and let me live vicariously through you.:yay:

Since you are at OKW, I would take advantage of the boat to DTD one night. DH and I like to hit a couple restaurants for an app and a drink (usually Paradiso and either Bongo's or House of Blues), then somewhere else for dessert (Wolfgang Puck's has fabulous dessert). Or, we enjoy doing the dine in theater (Fork and Screen) or bowling at Splitsville. I also agree with the PP that dinner at either Epcot or the Boardwalk, followed by Jellyrolls is really fun. We also have done a monorail crawl with a drink and snack at each hotel, which is lots of fun.

Oh La Nouba is such a great show!!

Cirque du Soleil! Great show - then dinner somewhere nice (Artists Point - underrated signature)

DW and I went to the Spirit of Aloha show at the Poly on our last trip. It was fun and the food was pretty good. We've also done Hoop De Doo. Either would make for a fun evening for two

These are my opinions of course
I do not like Flying Fish Cafe at all, but the Boardwalk is a good time too

My husband and I agree with this so much. We often just take a nice walk around World Showcase, just the two of us and looking at the other people, maybe venturing into some shops, having some snacks and some drinks.

And this is just the two of us after 32 years of marriage, one son who is grown and gone with a family of his own (coming up to ten years now) so we've been doing this for the past ten years with just the two of us. So you don't need an excuse of leaving the kids behind to enough some adult time at Disney World. Just do it your way.
