OMG! I have three DD's...one of them a high school sophomore and it NEVER occurred to me to have a talk about oral sex....
Thats a big one around here. Seems they think it "doesn't count", and you can't catch anything with it. When my bf's kids were in their early teens, she broke out a big 'ole book of stds, complete with pictures. THen she told them in not so many words how much easier it was to get something. She did the whole respect your body and self image, and now the girls who were "active" are pretty much looked down on because of what they did.
I also talk to DD about drinking and drugs. When the news is on, I make a point of showing her a car or someone in handcuffs and telling her it's the end result of drinking or drugs.
At 11, she's got a pretty good head on her shoulders. We'll see how she is at 14!
