when they stopped making those valentine boxes and having valentine's day parties at school?

I am a sophomore in high school and for German, we had to make valentines for everyone and make a box to put them in. It was just a V-day party all period. We did this last year, too. It kinda felt like we were in like 1st grade again. Not complaining, though. We got out of doing work, not like we ever do anything in that class anyways.

BTW, my box and Valentines both had Mickey Mouse on them. They were def. the cutest in the class, if I do say so myself!

Fifth grade was the last year they did Valentine boxes and had an exchange party.

My son is also a sophomore, but he's got a not-so-fun German teacher. I think he'd like your class MUCH better than his!!!

They DID have a great Oktoberfest party in the fall, though. :)

4th grade was the last year for my DD to make the Valentine's boxes. I still do them with my class but then again I teach pre-school and they love it!

2nd or 3rd grade I believe. I hated making those things.

We do this still at my work..... :rotfl:

We all put bags out and all the people in the department pass out candy and valentines. We have 60 people in the department, so we get quite a bit. It is kind of corny, but fun. I gave out Laffy Taffy valentines this year.....

DD10 is in 5th grade and they didn't do it this year. Didn't even pass out Valentines. I hate making them...or at least wrapping the boxes for them to make them...but it is the last year of grade school for goodness sake. Let them have fun one last time. They did have a great party...but I know she wanted to pass out goodies and they were told they could NOT.

It made me think of Christmas parties this year when my junior high son said..."you are lucky to have parties. While you are doing that, we are taking exams!"

Our last year was 5th grade. Once we left elementary school, it was done.

Hey, my 1st graders made beautiful Valentine boxes...well, actually my room mother wrapped each shoebox in red or pink bulletin board paper & then cut out a hole for the top.

They looked great, the kids loved them, & got to decorate them with dozens of Valentine stickers, & took them home today!

5th grade here, too. The jr high sells Valentines that the student council delivers but that is a little different then having to exchange.
