Parents helping?

Is anyone else going to have their parents help them move in? My family and I are coming down a few days early and they'll be here when I check in on the 6th, and I was just wondering if they could come check in with me or what? Thanks! also anyone else arriving the 6th?

and it really wasn't necessary for me to be there for registration. I'm a very posessive mom and it was a little difficult for me to step back but Disney sure knew how to put me in my place. When we drove up to registration, there's a huge tent with a sign that says "Family & Friends Waiting Area" and then there are arrows and plenty of staff members around addressing questions and directing the students in the right direction.

The instructions on the form for a car permit said that the car and insurance had to be in your name, but my son's car is registered in my name so my son suggested that I come with him in case there are any problems. However as soon as we got to the first check point, I was thanked for coming along and directed to wait in the Waiting Area by the big tent. I had to laugh.

Everything went very smoothly for my son and I just sat and chatted with some other parents who were waiting for their children.

You'll first go through registration and get your room assignment and then get your photo id and then go to the health check area. It takes a few hours but then you're free to bring your things to your apartment. We arrived a little after 9am and he was done before noon. We went to his room, it's at Chatman. By the time we got everything into his room, we had just enough time to get back to Saratoga Springs for a little lunch and he had to be back at the Commons at 3pm for a seminar. We had dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's for 7pm and he met up with us around 6pm. Adn then he was free until the next morning. I think he had to be back at 9am.

Of course, you couldn't tell me that I shouldn't go with my son but while I was just hanging around, I was regretting that the rest of our family was at Animal Kingdom with my 22 month old niece.

If your parents want, they could drop you off and then you could call them when you're finishing up at the Health Check and meet up with them to go to your room.

Your family can go--mine did--and my best friend walked through check in with me. He was not on the program, but they let him walk around with me.

It isn't necessary. My whole family was there: Mom, Dad, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and best friend (who's like a brother but closer). They were bored, but didn't really care. Plus, all those helping hands, I didn't move any of my own stuff into the apartment. I just directed where things went.

My dad came down with me to help me move into the apartment. On check-in day he had to wait in a "family waiting area". I ended up going around with my roommate (my friend who I had gone down with from home). It wasn't too bad. It went a lot quicker then I thought.

My DH and I just helped our DD move in Monday. She's at Chatham, and rooms with 7 others. Three sets of parents were there, and I felt very welcomed. I helped her get her bed made, and hang up clothes, etc. Since your parents are going to be there anyway, I bet they would love to see your place. So if you want them there, go for it!

As for the actual check in process, as the others said, your parents will have to wait in an assigned area while you do the steps.
