We are expecting our second child this week. I am being induced at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia. My Daughter was born quite surprisingly and quickly at 34 weeks because of severe preeclampsia but I've made it much further this time, at least!

So my question. With my daughter, we went straight from the OB's office to the hospital and I didn't have time to pack a bag. She was also in the NICU for two weeks so clothes were not an issue. This time we are keeping our fingers crossed that our little guy will be okay and not need to be taken to the NICU. I also have the luxury of having time to pack a bag.

My question is, assuming that he gets to room with me, should I plan to bring him clothes to put on him, or am I better off leaving him in the little t-shrt that the hospital provides? Obviously I've packed a 'coming home' outfit but I just mean for the rest of the time.

Anyone have thoughts?

Besides coming home, my kids wore the hospital clothes... didn't want to lose any of ours.

I took a few gowns with elastic at the bottom.

Good luck!!!

I dressed them to come home, that's it. They wore the hospital tees and blankets otherwise. Congrats!

My DD was born on Dec.26 so the nurses put her in a little Santa outfit with a red hat. We kept it on her while she was there and even as her going home outfit since the one we brought was way too big.

I didn't take an outfit for my first daughter and she ended up with her "first photo" from the hospital in a hospital onesie. Not a big deal but I would have rather had her in a cute little dress.

The only clothes I packed for both of our kids were the outfits for coming home/picture which were the same. They just wore a onsie or the hospital shirt the rest of the time. They keep the babies swaddled most of the time so a whole bunch of extra clothes are not really necessary.

For all three of mine, I used the little gowns with the fold over mitts. This kept them from scratching their faces. I always suggest these gowns for new parents for their hospital bags.

We only changed their clothes when it was time to go home. Wore the hospital shirt the rest of the time. But you should do whatever you want.

I only packed a coming home outfit. DD roomed in with us and I was nursing so we did a lot of skin to skin contact. Otherwise, I just kept the little shirt on her that the hospital provided and swaddled her.....

The hospital I was at did not have "room in" so DD wore hospital clothes till I took her home. I had some issues that kept me there a few days so she ended up wearing their stuff a few days. I changed her into her own things when I was getting her ready to go home.

I kept all three of mine in hospital clothes until it was time to take them home. Have fun and enjoy some days when I think about them as babies it is so sad, it goes way to fast.:confused3

I just kept mine nude (swaddled and with a diaper) or in the little tshirt. I didn't put their outfits on them until going home day. :)

1.-Stayed in NICU for almost a month and didn´t need clothes until it was time for his "coming home" outfit.
2.-Stayed in hospital only for 24 hours, DD wore her own clothes.
3-DD was put in her own clothes and went home with us 4 hours later
4.-DD was dressed in her own clothes and came home 4 hours later too.
5.-DS, own clothes, came home 5 hours old.

Not a big fan of hospitals or hospital outfits here ;)

No. I used their clothes til time to go home. Why have the baby puke on our clothes? LOL.

Not only the puke....;)

Less laundry when you get home too.

All 3 of mine stayed in the hospital shirt and hat while we were in there. I just put them in their outfits when we came home.

We only used the hospital clothing. Everything feels "very messy" the first few weeks. I was glad not to have to worry about laundry.

Another one who used only hospital clothes till it was time to come home. I would never had used my own clothes because I was worried I wouldn't see them again if I sent the kids to the nursery while I napped. The kids spit up,they change them, then where are my clothes?
