Parents, did/do you use these?

I was always too lazy....just one more thing to worry about during my trip. But they do look like a good idea. It also looks like they would make baby more comfortable too.

I use the wipes now, even when it is just me.

And I don't think you would look paranoid at all. I would think you were being a good mom. But, then, I have always been a germaphobe.

go for it. It gives the baby extra support, less potential for a virus to affect you & your little.

I didn't use them. I'm all for making a baby more comfortable and more secure. However, IMHO, it is a mistake to go to the lengths some parents do to protect their children from germs. I really think it makes their immune system weaker if their environment is so completely anticeptic.

You would shudder to hear what my DD's put their mouths on or what they put in their mouth. However, they are extremely healthy children!

I keep a sample size of hand sanitizer in my car. As soon as I get into the car from any shopping I use it.

They didn't have covers when my kids were younger. I would use them and not worry about what others think.

Didn't use them, because they were not invented when my kids were that age. I see them in the stores all the time and thought "cheeeezzzz.......why didn't I think of that !!" They are such a good idea. I think there was a germ survey one of the TV news stations did a few years ago, and the #1 germy place was the handles on shopping carts......when you think of all the people who have had their hands on them with out being washed.......it makes me shudder...YUCK

Yes, I used one when dd6 was younger. It's a great idea. I think my pediatrician said that shopping cart handles are the #1 place where kid's pick up germs.

Didn't have them when my kids were young. A few germs never hurt a kid. Exposure to naomal dirt and grim builds up the immune system. And yes I had one premie who is now 25 and just fine.

I used one a few times but it was just more trouble than it was worth to fasten all the buckles and get it attached to the cart correctly. It's been taken to Goodwill!

One of our local grocery store keeps a big dispenser of antibacterial wipes right by the shopping carts--this makes it SO easy to just wipe down the surfaces DS will touch.

BTW I thought I was such a great and successful parent with DS #1 because he never tried to mouth the cart handle--but then came DS #2, whose sole goal in life as a baby was to devour every cart handle in town! Yuck!
