Parents' behavior at WDW that makes your jaw drop . . .

The first thing that comes to mind is the classic tired kid and the parent saying "I did not spend all this money to bring you to WDW so that you could just sit here!" I seem to hear that at least once or twice a trip!

Once when I was staying at the Aniamal Kingdom Lodge, I was walking down a hallway that led outside, and in front of me was a mother and daughter, and a couple. The little girl, who was about seven, held the door open for the couple and I (me? Oh, forget grammar before noon!), and her mom looked at her impatiently and said "You dont have to hold the door for the whole hotel!" I would be so proud if my kid (um, if I had kids) was being so polite and holding the door open for people, and yet this woman gets mad at her for it? Sounds like someone needs a mickey bar.

There are many rude, inconsiderate, lazy, grouchy, and UNTHANKFUL adults out there. I am usually not the kind of person to say anything...i'm just too nice...but i know that this kind of stuff happens and I will sure say something to anyone next time something (like these examples) happens. I have seen some "bad" parents at Disney...nothing to out of the ordinary. Mostly those parents that are "discipling" there kids i.e screaming at them, and making themselves look like the big bratty child.

An out of Disney experience: I remember this one time at Mc Donalds, my friend and i were looking over the menu in line and this older man (like 60s) just steps in front of us with his wife. His wife says, "I think those girls were in line" he glanced back quickly and said "No they're not" all angry and grumpy about it. Me and my friend just stared at each other.

Sometimes I think it would be fun to have pins or buttons or something of Jiminy Cricket and every time you encounter someone like that, give them a Jiminy Cricket button with some kind of comment like "I see you forgot your conscience -- here's one for you to use while you're here at Disneyworld!"

I wonder if *anyone* would catch on...

....HEY just becasue I am in this thing don't give you the right to touch me!!!!!!!!!! or my scooter!!!!!!!!!

I think a lot of people think it's perfectly OK to touch or handle someone else's wheelchair, scooter, walker or whatever. But it's NOT. It's not even a question of cost (though the equipment is costly), but more a question of personal space. Their mobility equipment is like an extension of their self. You wouldn't sit on a stranger's lap or push someone out of the way - it's the same concept of sitting on someone's scooter or pushing someone in a wheelchair without their permission.
