Parent's 50th Anniversary & Family Reunion!!!

DH, DS (9), and I have been planning a Disneyland trip for September 26-October 4 for over a year now. Just found out DSIL got a job in Southern California and he and DD (27) will be moving there from Montana in August! We haven't seen them in a year and were so excited that we'd be able to see them on our trip. To make things even sweeter, DM and DD will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in October and have agreed to join us in Anaheim for the last 4 days of our trip for a family celebration!! We'll be staying at the HoJo in building 2 and DH and I have bought the anniversary couple a Disney view room as a gift. I've requested a room on the top floor for them and know that my Dad will love drinking his coffee on the balcony in the morning with the great view and those incredible pine trees that grow so tall! (DM, DD, and I lived in Las Vegas when I was growing up and would visit California and Disneyland regularly. This will be the first time we have been back together in about 35 years!)

DM, DD, and I are so excited! I just know that this is going to be a really special time for everyone in our family!! I feel so lucky today and just had to share it with you all. Who else could even begin to understand.........

Thanks, everyone. It's even more special because DM has had a really tough year health wise and had had to undergo three surgeries. She's doing really well now and I think this trip will help our family signify a new beginning to some great times ahead! We're a small family but very close and I'm so thankful that we'll get to spend this special time together!

DL is definitely the perfect way celebrate a new beginning and a 50th marriage anniversary! have a great trip and congrats to them! its also great to hear your DM is doing better have fun!!

When pre-ordering some gift baskets the CM I talked to said that they have a lot of 50th anniversary gear. Perhaps you can grab your parents some golden ears and stuff to commemorate their 50th anniversary too!

Thanks for all the well wishes and thanks to Sy- for the great 50th ideas. I would love to be able to dig up some golden 50th Mickey ears to put in a gift basket for them. I think it's going to be one of the best trips ever!

You could build the golden ones maybe even have their names put on...I don't know if you can do this through the Disney Merchandise Dept...I don't have the number right here...will find it and post it...The number I have is 1-800-362-4533...I'm really not sure if you can order them through DMD but it can't hurt to ask...jc

Thanks, that's a great idea! Now that I think about, I remember hearing about this earlier in the year. We'll be there a few days ahead of them and should have time to get them made in Toontown before their arrival.
