Does anyone do this? how does this work? Do you both have to wait on line one single time with your tot then switch? or can I wait on line and DF do something with DD and then we switch, I would hate for DD to have to wait on a line for a ride that she isn't even going on.

ALL of you go up to the ride entrance line CM. Tell them you want to do parent/rider swap. They will send one through the line with a card (almost like a fast pass slip). When you come off, the next parent takes the card back to CM and goes through the Fast pass line.

This works good on BTMRR and SM if you get your FP's (1 for each if just one rider - use each ticket once) for about the same time. That way neither of you have to wait in line very long.

DS & DD are almost 6 years apart so it's worked out good for us and DS gets to ride twice.:goodvibes

Just be sure to present your whole party to the CM, as they do look to see that you actually have a child (and thus in need of the child swap).

I have always wondered about this. My kids are 7 years apart. They will be 9 and 2 when we go this summer and I missed many rides last year because I waited with the baby. So when the first parent goes through, they take the older child with them? And then the second parent gets to take the older child when they go through also??

Just need some clarification so I'll know what to expect.

We've never found this to work for us.

For Soaring, you cannot take strollers inside the Land Pavillion. My DH stayed outside with our sleeping DS2 while I went on the ride. I could not get a child swap because the child was not present. They need to "see the baby". Well, baby's asleep and they won't allow strollers in so it didn't work for us.

Also, many times we've been giving the run around. Like at TT, we've been told to ask several CMs, and never found the right one.

We've given up on it. We just get enough FPs and ride the single rider line now.

Yes that is correct. Older child will get two rides. We have used it every trip.

Yes, after you get the rider switch pass parent one goes through with older child (either through standyby line or fastpass line-- if you have them). Parent two waits near the ride exit (or goes somewhere else in the park depending on the wait... sometimes we'll do a different ride for the little one or get a snack while waiting). After the first parent/child are done, parent two takes the rider switch pass and older child through the fastpass line.

3 people can use a rider switch pass. This worked well for us because we had two kids that were tall enough for most rides and one who wasn't. So both parents got to experience the ride with the older kids.

We've used it on:

MK:
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Epcot:
Mission Space
Test Track
Soarin'

HS:
Star Tours

AK:
Dinosaur
Expedition Everest

Never had any problems. It's also availabe on a few more but these are the places we have used it.

If you only have 1 child and you and your spouse will be each riding alone, using the single riders line when available is also a great idea. I think it is available on EE, Test Track, & RnR.

We had this same situation at Soarin. They were down right rude with us, can't bring strollers down, but won't give swap if they couldn't see the kids. They finally gave the first group the swap ticket, after a long debate. But the fastpass line was as long as the regular line. It can make for quite a long wait overall if they ride you are swapping is a popular one.

The CM was so RUDE to me! She looked at me like I was lying and said loudly "I need to see the baby". I just said "what ever" really loud and I guess I surprised her because she gave me such a strange look! :rotfl2:

It actually worked out fine for us. I had gotten our FPs at 9am while DH took a Segway tour. So we each walked on with a FP and got to cut the majority of the FP line since we were both single riders. (I guess I should explain that the CMs moving the line along moved us both (each time) towards the front - they need to fill all the seats.)

I just think it all depends on the CM you ask for a baby swap. Some are down right mean.:headache:

The bolded part..... how is that posible?

Thanks

I actually had a question about the exact same thing and dont want to double post so... since we have never been there and ds is only going to be 34-36inches (depends on whose stick you go by!!!) So, are we better off using singles line, doing the switch, using a fast pass... or do they all work together? I have never been to Disney World so this is all something new... and since it is my first time I want to go on some of the rides I have been looking at all these years from afar kwim? Thanks!

What don't you understand? :confused3 We each went on alone. One had to stay with the kids. We both experienced the same thing, the CMs moving single riders ahead. When your in line, the CMs ask how many is in your party, when your alone, they move you up a bit to fill any empty seats on the next available ride.

The only time we've had trouble is on TSM at Studios. The CM's try to INSIST every time that DD18mos can ride alone or in my lap. I would not feel comfortable with her riding alone as she's very small for her age and I'm too "selfish" to wait in that line and not really get to enjoy the ride since I have a toddler in my lap grabbing at everything. Inevitably the CM's will give us a childswap, but I get annoyed having to argue for it every time.

Eventually its great though as DS5 gets to ride twice.

All the above.

However, only 3 attractions in WDW offer single rider lines: Expedition Everest, Test Track and Rockin Roller Coaster. Use all that is available based on the wait times listed.

Thanks, just wanted clarification on how you were moving past the guests already in the fastpass line.

But anywhere your a single rider, your at an advantage. Even thought there's no designated single rider line, they will move single riders along much quicker to fill spots.

I was able to walk directly onto the AK Safari ride as there was one seat left in the jeep. The CM let me in thru the handi-cap entrance. (For that I did have my DS2 in my lap, but was considered one passenger).

I'm just saying, one person can move thru a line much quicker than a whole group and the CMs do notice single riders and move them along.

That's worked best for us, much better than baby swap.

Yep! DS2 sat on my lap and I think this is why I did not care for TSM! :sad2: There is no way to operate that gun-thingy with one hand!
