Hey All! So I have a question about the "rider switch" or whatever it is called situation. So when I go with my family in Sept. there are most of the bigger rides that only My wife or I can go on with our Daughter while the other sits with our son and waits....now I have heard about them giving the waiting parent a ticket to ride when the parent riding gets done? Anyone care to elaborate anything they know about this?

Also Early Entry & Magic Morning - So staying on site at DLH do you get early entry every day of stay? Just curious.

That's called the 'child swap'. The non-riding parent then gets to ride without having to wait through the line again.

The four of you approach the CM at the ride entrance and tell them you would like a child swap (it's actual name is Rider Switch). In Disneyland they will tell you to let the CM up top know, in DCA they will give you a lanyard to give to the person up top. It's usually the CM who asks you "how many" right before you board the ride. When you finish the ride you give the pass to other adult so they can ride. It's good for three people so the other adult can take your DD with them and she can ride again. The pass is good for that day, they don't have to use it immediately but can come back later if they want. When it's time, they just take the pass to CM and they'll direct them to fast pass line.

eta: Wanted to clarify, your whole family does not have to wait in line to do this. You go directly to the CM at the Single Rider/Fast Pass line, show them your whole party then split up from there parent and non riding child go find a shady spot or do a small ride while the parent and child who ride either gets in Standby or FP line (if they have FPs) to ride.

If you are a guest of one of the three on-site hotels (GCH, PPI, DLH), you can take advantage of EMH on any morning it is offered during your stay. So if it offered every morning of your stay, you can enter the park for EMH every morning of your stay. Note that DCA and DL generally do not have EMH on the same morning, meaning only one park opens an hour early.
