Sorry, but I have tons of questions tonight!
What did you all get your parents and/or bridal party members for appreciation gifts? My DF and I are sort of stumped and would love some help.
Do you have to give them their gifts at the rehearsal dinner?

We haven't gotten to that part yet, but I did see some neat stuff on DinseyShopping.com a few weeks ago. You could try there for some inspiration! They have an engravable wedding DVD box and photo album that are on sale right now. Just type wedding in the search box and it will all come up.

HTH!

Parents: We are making them a picture book from www.mypublisher.com full of pics from their wedding, baby pictures and e-pics. I am also having hankies made for the parents/grandmothers from http://djchic.com/.

Bridesmaids: I had tote bags made from http://nnichols.com for each girl and I am filling it with flip flops, lip gloss, disney princess pens/note pads, hand lotion/scrub and whatever else I find. I am also paying for part of their dress. I might also get them earings or a necklace to wear the day of.

Thanks for the ideas! I have a problematic giving situation because it is hard to wow my family.
The problem is with my Dad. His is a Disney Collector to the extrme (I mean we have moveable walls in one room so he can change up his animation)! It is crazy! Disney stuff is everywhere!
I want to get him something he can't find online and would be a, "how did you get this?" sort of thing. Wish me luck!
For my Mom, I have no idea!
His parents I am clueless, too!

My daughter had a DFTW a month ago. At the rehearsal dinner at Ohana's, she presented me with photo quilt that she had had made. On it are 25-30 photos of her and her and me, with the earliest being her hospital baby picture to just a few months ago (us shopping for her wedding dress) including piano lessons, prom, high school grad, college grad, grad school interview trip, Disney trips, first birthday, etc. etc. The photos are in color, and the borders and stripping in between the pictures are a cream colored fabric. I was blown away by this incredibly thoughtful, meaningful gift, and it makes my eyes tear up just thinking about it. It was so, so neat because I am a quilter who has made quilts for others, but have never been gifted with one myself. She sent the photos away to an online company and they made it and sent it to her. As a mom, I can tell you it was the best, most personalized gift she could have given me.

You could get him one share of Disney Stock and have it framed. If you look on mousesavers, she has a coupon/discount listed for oneshare.com. That's something different and great for an enthusiast.

I love the quilt idea. Does anyone know the website?

As for the Disney Stocks, that is what we got our groomsment.

We also bought lenox trinket boxes. I am putting the jewerly in them for the girls and the guys we bought mickey cufflinks with thier initial on them all from disneyshopping.com

I'm the daughter who had the photo quilt made for my parents. The company is The Younique Boutique and the website is www.tybinc.com

It was super easy to do. I ordered it online and then shipped the photos to CA. You can also submit digital photos, but most of mine were fairly old and only in print format. We had the quilt back in less than a month (along with our photos that were returned to us).

The look on my mom's face at the rehearsal dinner was worth every penny!

I gave my matron of honor a cute purse with a silver necklace inside. The necklace had a picture of a little blue bird on it...cuz she's got a current "thing" for birds right now. I also got her a pretty jade bracelet. I told her that these jewelry items were not intended to be worn at the wedding, unless she wanted to. I really wanted it to be a present from the heart, and not meant to just be worn on the wedding day. She ended up wearing them anyway.

Our Best Man got a fireman's knife, because he's a fireman. And he really spent a long time looking at it, and showing it off.

We gave them their gifts during the "unrehearsal dinner" the night before the wedding. :)

For my father and step-mother we did a round of golf at one of the Disney PGA courses. For Leif's dad and stepmother, we gave them a Disney GC that she used at the spa. For my bridesmaid's and flowergirl's my friend made the jewelry that I specifically designed. For the groomsmen, Leif bought things specific to their interests.

I made "bridesmaid essentials" bags with little things like dental floss, purell, kleenex, lotion, lip balm, bandaids, etc. I also gave them 14k gold threader earrings, although I didn't have them wear those for the wedding. I should have made them jewelry, since I do that sort of thing, but didn't plan well enough and ran out of time...come to think of it, I made a lot of swarovski pearl necklaces this past christmas...should have thought of those as BM gifts! lol

Groomsmen received engraved money clips and keychains.

I suppose these gifts weren't super thoughtful or anything...:confused3

We didn't give our parents gifts (bad??), but they did receive leather hardbound 5x7 "parent's albums" that were a part of our photography package...

Your gifts were very thoughtful. :flower3: And we didn't give a parent gift either. Simply because we paid for our own wedding, and we had no parent help with any of our plans.

I paid for my girls to have updos the day of the wedding, and got them monogrammed hankerchiefs to have on the wedding day, and earings and a necklace to wear to the wedding and a cute little soap. I am giving my parents a double picture frame that says "your daughter always" at the top and on the bottom left has my birthday andbottom right my wedding day and i am putting in a childhood pic in teh left and bridal portrait in the right side!
