Parasailing to Chef Mickeys?

I am thinking about surprising my DH with a parasailing excursion at the Contemporary Resort. After he is finished with that, I was thinking that we could take the kids to Chef Mickey's for lunch. Chef Mickey's is at CR, correct?

Do you think that I need to make PS reservations for Chef Mickey's or can we just walk in after DH is finished parasailing? We will be doing this in September.

Also, can we park at the Comtemporary Resort since his parasailing reservation is there? If so, can we leave our car at the CR all day with no problem? Then after lunch at Chef Mickey's can we use the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom? (I'm asking these questions because we are not staying on property, and I am not sure about Disney's policies.)

Please keep in mind that all of my plans are very tenative at this point. I am just looking for some info. and advice from my fellow DISers. :D

Thank you!

First, Chef Mickey's is not open for lunch. Breakfast and Dinner only. If you can schedule the parasailing earlier you could probably do a late breakfast. If I recall CM's serves breakfasts till 10:30am.

If you wish to leave your car at the CR all day and visit the MK, I would suggest taking advantage of valet parking. Paying the $6 fee (plus tips) should allow you to park the entire day. You should still verify this with the valet when dropping off your car.

If you do not use the valet, you will be given a 3-hour parking pass.

Another breakfast place at the Contemp is the Concourse Steakhouse located right next to CMs. If you are not going to get a ressie for CMs, you could use this as a back up plan. Concourse Steakhouse doesn't have the characters, but they make an excellant breakfast! (I am addicted to the Stickey Mickeys--they are enormous cinn. rolls in the shape of Mickey Ears brought to your table piping hot from the oven!).
Another thing that you could do is stop by either CMs or Concourse Steakhouse on your way to your parasailing adventure and see how things are looking wait wise (or maybe get a PS...)
Are you going to go dual tandem with your DH on the parasailng adventure? We found out that we could get a 10% discount off the parasailing adventure with our DVC membership, but they were giving a 15% discount with a AAA card or using an American Express card. (DH and DS went dual tandem and I went up to the 11th floor of the Contemp and went out on the walkway and took pictures of them.) They both thought the experience was awesome!
