Has anyone here (and I'm sure there are a few - I know DopeyRN did it a few years ago with her sister) parasailed and done it for a first time and was terrified????

I need some convincing by tonight that it's okay - the height isn't that bad and it was the best experience you've had - or better than you expected it would be.

DD wants to do it and I'm thinking I want to also - this is in July on Castaway Cay during our cruise.

MODS - please please please don't move this to the cruise board. I'm going to post there also - I just need some convincing here!!!!

Also, which did you think was worse - taking off or landing????

I just booked parasailing on CC for my 2 sons - I've never done it, but they really wanted to try it. If you decide to do it, be sure to call DCL EXACTLY 60 days to the day that you BEGIN your cruise. I understand that these slots are taken quickly!

My DS and DH did it in November from the Contemporary. They really loved it.

I have parasailed years ago on Lake George. It was marvelous! I think it was 250 ft high. The view was breathtaking, I'm always telling my DH he should try it.

So this year when we go to WDW the whole group is going to try it. Including my DD (11), and DN (6) & my BIL who is paralyzed from the waist down too!

I am so looking forward to the view of the world from that height, it's something you remember for the rest of you life.

Try it you'll like it,
Lisa

That's why I need to know by tonight minnie - tomorrow is our 60 day call!!!!!

It's wonderful! Not scary at all. I'm afraid of heights, but I loved parasailing.

Back in 1983, I went parasailing in Acapulco. This was quite a feat for me because I can't swim and I'm deathly afraid of water. For me, the takeoff was scary because my toes dragged in the water just a little until I got up in the air. Then it was absolutely wonderful! You feel so free, just flying around up there, the view is great. Landing wasn't bad at all - I even landed on my feet. (AFTER I landed I got a real stiff drink!) :) Go for it! I think everybody should do it once.

I wasnt really scared, but I did do it for the first time last summer, at CC too. I loved it! I didnt think take off or landing were bad, but if I were scared maybe take off would have been worse not knowing what was to come. The only thing I can think of that seemed a little scary was while I was up there there was a little turbulence. I just knew that if I unhooked or anything, I had a parachute, was going for the water, and there was a boat right there to rescue me...nothing to worry about.
The view is awesome! Be sure to take a camera up with you. I took a disposable one just in case I dropped it. We also had the video cam on the boat. Not being allowed to go up together9due to wind conditions) did have 1 advantage, we could tape each other up there.

I tripped a little on take-off, but otherwise it was fine. I really enjoyed it....:D

i've never done it.... but my Grandmother has... she thought it was great!!!

if my Nonna can do it so can you....

have a blast..
