OK this is probably something pretty ridiculous to worry about, but during excursions such as snorkeling and kayaking - where is your stuff kept???? DH and I will be taking some water excursions like these and were planning on bringing a small pack of some type to carry some of our stuff - camera, water bottles, etc - in but was wondering how that will work? Also what do you reccomend for carrying KTTW card always????? I have this awful paranoid feeling that I will lose it! Something like what the Passporter sells? I am not big on the fanny pack so other suggestions would be great! Any advice would be helpful please! :) THANKS

Melanie

I guess it all depends on who and where you are doing the excursions, for example if you are going to chankanaab there are lockers to use, if you are going with DCl or another provider to stingray city etc you'd leave your stuff on the boat, if you want your kttw / credit cards with you invest in a waterproof holder similar to the type you get at typhoon lagoon etc they go round your neck on a string and can take a couple of cards and some change.

As far as carrying your KTTW, since that's what locks your door, and the only way you can buy anything on board, you should probably always have it with you, just in case you get separated. I usually didn't give my kids theirs, but they don't have charging privileges anyway. We carry ours in a lanyard with a pouch. They sell them at WalMart in the area by purses and wallets in many different colors. There are also the waterproof boxes on a lanyard that you can use. If you don't find them before, they have them on board, I think around $6.

If you don't like lanyards, I'd just be sure to have a pocket in the shorts you wear, and tuck the KTTW in there.

I've never been concerned about leaving our things. We don't have a very expensive camera though. I usually have a beach bag that I keep swim goggles, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc in when we go to the beach on CC. I've never had a problem with anything missing.

Sorry I guess I should have specified where we were going and what we were hoping to do:

Key West - Sail, Kayak and Snorkel
Grand Cayman - Aquaboat and snorkel
Castaway Cay - more snorkeling and wave runner tour

Oops!

I would recommend buying a dry box on the ship. We bought one at a dive store before we left and to our surprise they were cheaper on the ship (and had the DCL logo of course)! You can put your KTTW card and cash or whatever in there. We had a small beach bag with us for the beach at Cozumel, Cayman and Castaway Cay and felt completely comfortable leaving it on the beach while we swam.

Have fun!

Adults will need their KTTW and a photo ID to leave the ship and to reboard. Kids will need their KTTW. As a result, you HAVE to take those items with you. I'd take as little else as possible and pack it in waterproof containers of some kind. A few extra zip-lock type bags wouldn't hurt either.

with kayaking you have a little "hole" in the boat that you can keep stuff in ....like a water camera... but you can also but a bag down on the land because u will be returning to the same place
