Never been to Wonderland but been to Disneyland many times and going back next month. We love Disneyland for the park experience and WDW for the resort experience. Nothing compares to Disneyland.:cloud9:It is old school Disney. Walt's touch is all over the park!:love:Any theme park has line ups. A good trip planner knows how to avoid them that's all!:goodvibes

P.S Magic Kingdom is at WDW

Well never been to Disneyland BUT we were at Disney World this past summer for the 1st time.

Canadas Wonderland is big and has alot of rides and water park inside, it also has alot of line ups. I think they have a few characters when I was little they had ALOT more around the park now I think they are in the kiddie section, I havent been to Wonderland for a few years now as too much money and not worth it to me and my kids not as exciting as when I was younger. The people who work there are usually summer students and dont really care alot of making you feel welcome and doesnt seem they care if you have problems or make it feel special.

Disney World they have MORE park options 4 different parks that you can go to. There are also alot of ride and line ups BUT there is the pass thingy (cannot think of the name now) but you can get a ticket (1 every hour) for a ride and it has a specific time on it where you can go back to that ride and walk striaght in, instead of waiting in the big line ups I LOVED this idea thought it was amazing. They also have rides for adults and kids. We only went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, I think Disney World is a MORE magical place and alot of the people working there are from ALL over the world and seem to be happy there and want to make you have a great experience. They have characters walking around the park and signing autographs for you, fireworks and parades everynight (I know for sure at Magic Kingdom they do) You can book Character meals which my kids loved again they make you feel special.

If I had money to go every year I rather spend it going to Disney World then Wonderland after going to Disney this yr I dont think I would ever go back to Wonderland its boring LoL I can hope on the Go bus and take about 30min or less to get there but rather save the money to go to Disney.

We do wonderland every year and there is no comparison. Wonderland lacks the magic and imagination of Disney. There is no connecting theme for there is no dream. Plus there is no incentive to people manage properly. The line ups are huge and the staff (for the most part) are unmotivated by their summer job. The food is overpriced and NOT cooked well. One might ask why I continue to go. My kids. Although now that they have actually been to disney I am interested in seeing if their wonder in Wonderland wains.

There is no comparison. I have been to Disneyland, WDW and to Canada's Wonderland. Wonderland is simply a park full of rides. That's it. Fun, sure, but it nothing compared to WDW or DL. Walt's places are experiences which go far beyond simple rides. The attention to detail and customer service are what makes them what they are. The entire day I spent at Wonderland this summer I was thinking, boy could they learn a few things from Disney. Huge lines, no fastpasses. Garbage laying around and staff walking right past it (you'd never see that at WDW). While some of the staff at Wonderland were pleasant, there wasn't the same level of service and attitude that castmembers have. It was simply a minimum wage job - no sense of personal ownership or commitment to customer service. Not to slam Wonderland - it is a really fun place and we certainly didn't have any major issues with the staff. There wasn't any interaction with most of them, no-one spoke to the kids about the rides or anything else, smiled much and all that. I felt that Wonderland was way overpriced and the entire day for my family of 4 could have bought me 1 and a bit worth of tickets for 2 weeks at WDW.

Yes, I confess I am a Disney nut, but WdW is far superior. You'll get more thrill rides at Wonderland, but you won't get all the parades, shows, neat things to explore throughout the whole park (mmmm, the smell of the Main St. bakery in Magic Kingdom is one example), and on and on.... It depends on what you like - it it is all about thrill rides, then Wonderland is the place for you. For many of us, it is the million little things at WDW or DL that make the vacation, and we go for much more than the rides.

Oh, one more thought. All the Disney parks are planned for all ages, whereas at Wonderland the family often has to split up if there are little ones. The kiddie area is contained in one section of the park, and we ended up not spending the day together as my dh took our oldest one the "big" rides, and my dd spent the time in the kiddie area or on the carousel. At Disney parks there is usually something to do nearby every ride to keep non-riders occupied (ok, ways to tempt you to spend your money).

Also, we only saw 1 character (Patrick), and he wasn't even "in" character. At WDW my kids still think that the characters are real, because they ACT like them, at Wonderland, it's some kid making noise in a hot suit while the handler goofs off beside him.

striker3636...I love your responses. I can't even bring myself to go back to Wonderland (I went a few times when I was younger) because it is so NOT Disney. At Disney, nothing is left undone (I always get a good chuckle when I see them cleaning the walkways at the resorts every morning...only at Disney). I have children of various ages and Disney really is one of a very few places where you don't have to split the family up in order to enjoy the attractions.

The only advantages I can hand Wonderland are the proximity (we lived in Kingston, then Ottawa, and it was only 3-5 hours drive), even with the cost in park you can pre-buy tickets for cheap (last time we went we got tickets at blockbuster for around $30) and the fact that the water park was an integrated part of the park.

Whenever we went, we usually ended up in the water park for most of the afternoon. The rides were always busy when we went. I still haven't ridden the stand up coaster or the bat, and we visited 6 or 7 times in 6 years.

I'm living in the U.S. temporarily for work, and we've been to Disney World twice in a year. We are going back in December. Honestly, Wonderland and Disney World are like apples and oranges.

Wonderland has definetly gone down hill over the past few years with change of ownershi (JMHO) After going to Disneyworld 1x, there is no comparison. The CM's in the world are really, out of this world in comparision to Wonderland. The service is far superior, food is much better and long line up without Fast passes at wonderland make it easy for us not to go anymore. It is unusual at Wonderland to find lines up less then 1-2 hrs all summer.

Save your money for Disney. Either Land or World.
We went to Canada's Wonderland this summer. I was shocked at how rude, unmotivated and unpleasant the staff there is.
Line ups are ridiculously long with little or no shade and nothing to look at. Disney makes even the waiting a lot of fun and interesting. Plus, the Fast Passes are a great idea. When we went in September, we only needed to use it once. The kids never complained one time about waiting in line (never more than 10 minutes or so though) because there was always something to look at, read or play.
Character interaction at Disney is magical. Character interaction at Wonderland is painful at best.
Security at the front gates of Wonderland is like a prisoner of war camp.
The park is run down and incredibly over-priced. The food is extremely expensive and the selection is slim to none.
Seriously, save your money for Disney. You'll be so glad you did!
