Paradise Pier Superthread

How big are the fridges in the rooms? I assume they are mini-fridges, but can a half gallon of milk fit inside? Cereal is a must for my kids plus it would be a quick and easy breakfast for them.
I'm pretty sure it will fit upright in the door. We had apple juice in ours, but a half gallon is a half gallon :). BTW, a champagne bottle also fits nicely.

Just back from a stay at Paradise Pier....we were in a standard room (1039).

This was our third and possibly last stay at Paradise Pier. Our room was located on the pool side of the building and in the far tower opposite the pool (looked out to the pool bar) and we didn't need an alarm clock as Disney either cut the grass or picked up the garbage at early hours of the morning (5:30 - 6:30 am). Yesterday on our check out day, they were trimming trees at 4:30 am. I know Disney needs to do these things, but I think they can wait until "normal" hours to do it. So if you have an upcoming stay at Paradise Pier, I suggest bringing ear plugs.

We also found the resort to be very noisy - not sure if it was the fact that the resort was completely full but we were constantly hearing toilets flush, showers running, people talking loudly in the halls. The elevators were also a problem in the morning and twice a housekeeper let us use the service elevator.

I was reading about the concierge cabana patio rooms and am intrigued by that option. We stayed in a cabana room at the Waldorf Astoria Biltmore in Phoenix last year and it was fabulous and set up very similar to the PP cabana rooms.

Do those rooms all have 2 queens with a fold down couch? That is the bed configuration we will be needing?

Can I book a cabana room and for sure get it or is it request only and we have to hope we get one?

Also, I"ve read the pool is on the other side of the hotel so no resort view or park view but how are people watching fireworks from the pool then?

Thanks!

The hotel faces DCA. To the left is DL.

The pool is on the opposite side of the hotel. If you go all the way to the side of the pool deck, you overlook the dlh and disneyland.

I just booked concierge and was told they had to be requested. Hopefully its what we get.

We love going to Paradise Pier, we will be heading back there this October.

Here's an outside shot I took a couple of years back.

I am staying there at the end of this month and I am so excited! I am sure the hotel will be noisy, but we are prepared for that. But it will be annoying if they trim trees or mow the lawn at 5am, but oh well not much we can do.

I thinking of upgrading to concierge if available. Any idea what the hours are for the concierge?

We've stayed at PPH four times, and (for us) It's the next best thing to DLH. Aside from a few small flubs, they've always treated us well and we really enjoy our stays there. Call me crazy, but I've never had a desire to stay at GCH. To me, it just lacks Disney heart. I've also heard the rooms are smaller than PPH and DLH, dark and now becoming dated. Maybe one day if they ever offer a screamin' deal. The best areas of GCH can be enjoyed without booking there.

Thanks for the link.
I already looked at those. I was wanting to see and hear from people who have experienced it rather than the advertisement pictures from Disney.

Has anyone ever faxed a room request? I know this is a common practice at WDW, but I haven't heard anyone mention doing it for DL resort.

WDW preview center 1971, WDW 20 times, DL 3 times, Disney Cruise 1 time, DL Paris 1 time, Upcoming: MK, AK & DHS May 1-5, DL & DCA May 27-31, MK June 12

Guest photos of the bed layout you asked about will be no different from the Disney site.

We are staying in a Paradise Suite next week.
Can someone tell me the bed layout ?
Any recent pictures?

How many bedrooms?

We are staying in the 1 bedroom suite.

The bedroom will have 2 queen beds and a chair that I believe folded out, but we didn't try. It also had a desk and chair. The family room has a queen fold out couch and a smaller, love seat style couch that did not open up. It also had a smallish table with 4 chairs. In our suite, both rooms had bathrooms, as well.

Thank you Larina! That helps a lot.
It's hard to see those kind of details from the pictures on the Disney Website. It was hard to tell which suite was which and they weren't very specific.

Hi - I had read a post on this thread that one should ignore the signage at PP about how to get to the parks, i.e. instead of going thru Downtown Disney, you should walk across the street to the GCH and enter from there.

However ...... I've also been reading on other threads that entering via GCH on EE mornings can be very slow, as in 20 minute lines. Has anyone been at PP recently and can provide some details about what is the best way to get into the parks from Paradise Pier on an EE day? I'm asking because I'm pondering switching to PP for the last two days of our August stay. Thanks!

Is there a charge to have items we purchase sent back to our room? How long does it take them to get there? Are they delivered daily or is your stuff usually there the next day?
