I've booked with the PPH, and I'm looking for suggestions as to which rooms to request. I'm aware of the option of a room with a view of DCA, but is there a specific tower that is closer to DL, or a specific floor or something that would be better?:confused: Any advice is welcome!

It's just one tower.

Because of the way it faces, if you get a view of the parking lot, you *can* see the fireworks over DL (though it's not really impressive).

If you get a view of DCA, there are no fireworks, but it's a pretty view all the same.

Remember, the way to get to the parks is to go out the FRONT doors, turns left to get to the crosswalk, cross and walk into the Grand Cal vie=a their pretty front door. Go in a bit, and either cross through the lobby to follow signs to DCA, or turn left and go down a long hall, which will eventually go outside (automatic sliding glass doors) and lead to DTD, to get to Disneyland.

Don't follow PPH's signs to the parks unless you *want* to walk allllll the way through DTD.

like bumber said, there isn't much to request. If you paid for a theme park view, then that is what you will get. You have to remember this is not Grand Californian which is low floored and covers a lot of ground--the Paradise Pier Hotel is the opposite--high and narrow. This makes for good views if you are on the California Adventure theme park side. Maybe ask for the highest floor available--but I have tried that trick many times at the Disneyland Hotel and never gotten higher than the 7th floor (it has 14).

Thanks for that! I wasn't aware of that shortcut for a walk to DL. How long would the walk be to DL through GCH?

We just got back from PPH and had a DCA view room near the Katella end of the hotel. We were able to watch WOC and DL fireworks from the room. The sound from both shows are piped in via the TV. Of course, you're watching WOC from behind the screens so the video is hard to make out, but the room gave us a good overall view of the show. For the fireworks, we had to look at a pretty extreme angle to the north to see all the fireworks. The north half of the hotel probably has better views of the fireworks--especially from the stair landings at the end of the hallway.)

We were just there for 4 nights with a view of CA. We were in room 1012 and my parents were in the adjoining room 1014 and both had spectacular views of the park (with our room having the slightly better view IMO).

Hope this helps!

I hoping we can save enough to stay at PPH next July 2012. We are WDW vets so the trip to DL will be our "one & only trip" I have some good neighbor motels in mind but would love to stay at PPH for the whole experience. Plus I love the bright beachy decor.
