hi there. does anyone know if pb has sand toys or should we bring our own? also, is the water where they have the water toys/activities deep? kids are 4 and 5 and can't swim.tia

They have a small shop at the entrance, do not remember if they had sand toys or not. My youngest was 6 and I was with her out in the water with the inflatables the entire time. Some of them were to deep for her to feel comfortable swimming on her own and she had some difficulty with getting on to some of them. Some kids had lifejackets but they were not required.

I've been to Paradise Beach several times and love it, but it may not be the greatest place for kids that young.

The sand isn't fine and is crushed coral (I think that's what it is). I don't think you could build sand castles out of it very well, whatever it was!

The inflatables are definitely in deep water. My teen boys had some difficulty getting out to them and climbing up. I don't think there's any way that 4 & 5 year olds could do it without the parents along and honestly I doubt the parents would have much fun doing it! :goodvibes

Agree with PP. We were there last month. I am 6ft tall and standing on my toes could barely keep my head above water at the most shallow located toys. It was also quite the task to climb onto them, but I did have an absolute blast on them :) Kids though may find it a real challenge to get onto them. Also, watch out for large rocks. I was swimming towards one of the deeper ones and slowed down to tread water as I got closer. Kicked a rock outcropping and hacked up my foot.
The place is great, but just be cautious. They do also have a beautiful pool that is shallow and a great place for the kids if they get nervous in the ocean waters.

I was there a few weeks ago with my 3 yr old and 8 yr old. My 3 yr old had a blast playing in the sand! True - it does not stay together and you are unable to really build a castle, but he did not care. We put a life jacket on him and swam him out to one of the two trampoline in the ocean - he loved that too.

We did spend a fair amount of time at the pool. It is huge with lots of shallow spots for chairs that he played on too.

We did bring our own sand toys, but we forgot towels. We bought one towel at the gift shop. $22! Yikes!

They also did not charge him an entrance fee - which I thought was nice.

I took my 3 and 5 year old there this past january. I didn't buy the bracelets so we didn't use the inflatable toys or anything.

They had fun playing in the water and the sand. We also used the pool a little bit. they really enjoyed the shaded area with the hammocks too.

We brought our own toys for the kids to play with. I bought my 5 year old boy some construction type trucks at the dollar store before we left. And a bucket and shovel. My 3 year old girl I bought a dollar store tea set. Everyone elses kids were over with ours playing.

any other recommendations for cozumel? kids love to play in the sand and make sand castles. also love water sprays/shallow pools. kids are also cautious, not adventurous so water toys in deep water is out of the question. we were also thinking of doing playa mia through dcl but it comes with a price. i guess if there are no other little kid friendly excursions we can do on our own we'll just have to book dcl excursions.
