We're going to try to watch a parade on this upcoming trip (Monday). We haven't seen either parade yet. Any advice which one to choose?

Pixar at California Adventure or Celebrate! at Disneyland? My kids are 3, 4, and (almost!) 6. They love the traditional characters as well as the newer ones.

Thanks. :)

Celebrate isn't really a parade... the floats/dancers/characters park in several "show stops." There is dancing, music...kids can get up and dance. I was highly unimpressed by it, but I was traveling solo and there was no way I was getting up to dance!

Pixar Parade is a more traditional parade- floats travel past. As the name suggests, it features characters from the Pixar movies. I think this one is tons of fun- lots of characters flying and jumping around, creative floats, lots of bright colors, and they squirt water at you.

If I had to pick one, I definitely pick the pixar parade. I'll actually be there Monday!

Oh, that helps a lot. Thanks. I didn't realize the DL one wasn't a parade. The Pixar one might be the way to go. :cool1:

The Pixar Parade is excellent! That's the one to see! You get to see all your favorite characters and the music is catchy. I agree about the other one. It isn't very impressive. Not worth waiting for.

I think its a personal taste thing. May was the first time we saw the parades and we did them both. I much preferred Disneyland parade and am not going to bother with the Pixar parade this time (though the bouncing stilt guys are AWESOME). I prefer classic Disney characters though.

We watched them both on our last trip, and we both preferred the Celebrate Street Party. They were both good, fun, etc.

Celebrate has all the "classic" characters, like mickey, minnie, donald, etc as well as a few of the newer ones like woody. it has such a great energy, and i loved that they pulled kids out of the audience to participate. i couldnt help but to dance myself. Plus, the characters come really close to you (depending on where you stand at), so it's a great photo op.

Pixar was fun to watch, but just didn't have the same energy to us. Only newer characters for this one, like toy story, bugs life, monsters inc, etc. That, and I walked away looking like I had peed my pants because every float decided to spray me right there.

We have three boys, ages pre-school to pre-teen, generally do not like parades or shows. All three of them LOVED the Pixar Parade, and our oldest called it "the best parade ever." That's a huge compliment coming from him. I would definitely vote for the Pixar parade - it moved at a nice pace, they sprayed water from the floats on a warm day, and we had a front row spot arriving on the parade route only 5 minutes before it started. Great parade!

I have to say that both the DCA and the DL parades are much smaller and less going on in them compared to 2006 when we were there last...

Of the two we preferred Pixar, but both were definitely see only once type things..

Neither is worth seeing in my opinion. It was much better when they had the old parade in DL and the Electric Parade in DCA.

Since they sent the EP to WDW I think they should bring spectro Magic out here.

We much, much prefer the Pixar Parade. I didn't like the DL one at all and was quite bored with it.
