I remember that the parade at MK in the afternoon would make certain stops along the route and kids were either picked or invited out to participate then sent back to their parents and the parade would then move on again.

I read they dont stop anymore. Has anyone been lately? Is this true?

We were there last week and saddly it is true. The parades do not stop to let the kids participate. Our kids still enjoyed the parade!

There was a thread about this a month or so ago. There was an injury of a CM and from then on the parade has not stopped. I think it happened in June or July this year.

There was a cm who died in an accident backstage. Since then, the parade does not stop.
GaTech- does the parade seem shorter now? I'd imagine without the stops- it'd be really short. I really enjoyed the stops- DD and DS loved dancing with the characters. Sad but I understand with the accident...

It seemed a little shorter now that you mention it. What I noticed is that we didn't take as may pictures/video as the kids were not out there.

We had the perfect spot for participating in the parade and now that it doesn't stop I'll let out the secret. If you are leaving the park walking on Main Street, the corner on the right at the circle which is the very end of the parade is never crowded and all of the floats stop there and the kids get to participate with multiple characters. My DS once danced with Mickey, Minnnie, Chip, Dale and 3 CM's and only one other child was with them.
