Last year while sitting on the ground waiting for the parade, a lovely CM approached us and said that my two girls (who had done BBB that day) were Royalty, and Royalty shouldn't sit on the ground! She escorted us to a seated section opposite It's a small world and we got to sit on chairs to view the parade.

We felt so special and it was amazing!! But my question is, what are these seats and how can you get them normally? Is it part of a package? A VIP tour?

There is "seating with chairs" and benches around the route reserved for VIP tours, club 33 members, and other "special guests" set up parades, shows and fireworks. If they aren't being used I think the CMs like to sprinkle extra magic when they can. The Plaza dining package (which we do each trip), is for a parade viewing area that is roped off, but there are no chairs.

Ok not a worry, bummer I was hoping to get those chairs again by paying for them LOL
Guess it's the ground for us next time LOL

They have not done parade seating packages for a while but as mentioned the reserved seats are for VIP Tours, Club 33 Members, and Disney V-VIPs...when they are not reserved to capacity and those on the guest list are pretty much in they sprinkle some magic and backfill with regular guests...not so much to sprinkle magic but to avoid the bad optics of a bunch of empty seats while the rest of the regular guests are packed in like sardines.

You can "pay" for them for if you book a VIP tour that day but that can get spendy!

I thought that seating was for VIP tours or Dining Packages -- but then again I might be thinking of a different area.

But how special of a moment! Its really things like that make Disney feel a little more magical when CM do stuff like that.
