Parade questions for MVMCP?

I absolutely LOVE the parades at WDW and will line up early for front row seats. So, how soon do you have to line up for the early parade? Where is a good place to line up? If you are sitting on Main street, do they put up ropes there? And How long is the parade? Wondering what else we can get done that first night. I doubt we would make it past 10:00pm. We are going on another night as well. So I know we can hit some more shows and rides the second night.

I like doing the rides during the first and watching the second, Vija. I don't think I have ever seen a parade from Main Street, I am usually over in the Liberty area or near Splash. I am sure they have the ropes. I would say the parade is about 30 minutes, a long one. I do think I have some pictures in the link in my signature from Dec.

on main street, they dont have the ropes up, you should line up for the first parade about 45 minutes prior atleast, a good spot is by frontierland, becasue that is where it starts, otherwise you wit forever for it to get down to main street.

The second parade is much better in terms of crowds...it starts on main street, and we go 5 minutes before it starts and sit down in a prime spot!!!!

We're going to try to stay for the second parade, but we'll see how tired we are. The day we do MVMCP is my son's 7th birthday!!

As soon as the park opens if not sooner, people entering the park are lining up for the parade so my answer is ASAP!

I also wait for the second parade...less crowded.

I always manage a seat right on Main street. I love being on Main Street for parades especially when the parade comes from the direction of the Castle!
